GOP - TAKE ADVANTAGE OF DEMOCRAT CONFUSION - THE SUNDAY COMMENTARY

Hillary lies about Bosnia. Obama and Jeremiah Wright are still making headlines. The DNC is getting a backlash of donors who are wanting their money back or threatening not to give. Twenty eight percent of Hillary supporters state they will vote for McCain if Obama gets the nod. Nineteen percent of Obama supporters say they will vote for McCain if Hillary gets the nod.

Over all twenty two percent of Democrats state they will vote for McCain if their candidate does not get the nomination. Party loyalty is low. The Democrats in Congress hardly get a headline because they are doing nothing. Pelosi and Reid are continuing the practice what they started last January when this Congress first went into session and that is blame Bush, complain about the war and do nothing else except look for ways to raise taxes.

The Democrat Party is in a shambles right now with the heated fight for the nomination between Hillary and Obama. That combined with the do nothing Democrat Congress and the Dem's are in a fix that shows no signs of improving in the short term and very well could continue all the way to the General Election in November.

The Republicans now have a unique opportunity to take control of the issue debate and possibly position themselves for November in such a way that gaining seats in the House and Senate is a distinct possibility and maybe even taking Majority control in at least one Chamber of Congress.

This implosion with Democrats has already benefited John McCain and his run for the White House. While Hillary and Obama have been fighting like school children over the nomination, McCain has been making policy speeches, visiting Iraq, the Middle east and Europe and generally honing his message which has had an impact in the polls to his favor.

The Dem's have dropped in most polls and in some McCain actually has double digit lead over both candidates. With the battle likely to continue through the Convention in August, McCain will head into the final push for November with a lead and a better out look with voters toward the Presidency.

While McCain is taking advantage of the war and general shambles the Democrats find themselves in the rest of the GOP seems content to just sit back and watch it happen rather than taking control of the debate and showing voters why they should vote GOP in November rather than continue with the do nothing Democrats.

It is time for Republicans to get on offense and show the nation a distinction between the liberal do nothing politics of Pelosi and Reid and even though any type of legislation the Republicans introduce in either Chamber of Congress will not have a snow balls chance of passage, the GOP must get off of their political duffs and start pushing buttons in order to fight for control of Congress in November.

There are several pressing issues that the GOP can take the lead in if they will but get on the offense and blitz the media and the halls of Congress, which in turn will help to ignite a flame of support with voters that could very well benefit Republicans in November.

These issues are as follows.

Immigration - Republicans can get control of this debate for November if they will stand for the building of the border fence, push for control of employing illegal aliens, securing our borders and punishing those who knowingly provide jobs to illegals.

The War - Democrats are still trying to claim that Iraq is a failure and both Presidential candidates are still crying for troop pull out and using this as a way of satisfying their liberal anti - war base. Polls show that the general public recognizes the success that is taking place in Iraq and in the general War on Terror and the need to remain in Iraq for stability in region. Republicans need to get before the media and on the floor of both the House and the Senate and take control of this debate rather than allowing the Dem's to get the only headlines for pull out and false claims of failure.

Limiting Government - Republicans failed miserably with this issue while in the Majority and now have an opportunity to get back in line with the GOP main stay issue of limited government. John McCain is campaigning on this platform and the party as a hole must follow suit by not only talking the talk but by introducing legislation that will cut back on current government programs as well as reducing spending and attacking the deficit.

Taxes - Voting for the Bush tax cuts is a start for the GOP in controlling the tax debate but more must be done in the next months for Republicans to own this issue. Democrats continually make limited headlines calling for tax increases that they claim target the rich but when investigated actually target all but the very poor with tax increases. They have also talked about raising the gas tax by fifty cents per gallon. Republicans need to introduce legislation calling for tax and spending reduction and hit the talking head shows and other media with the plans. Pelosi and Reid will not allow any passage of GOP legislation calling for tax and spending cuts Republicans can control public opinion by showing they favor cuts while Dem's fight against them.

If Republicans will finally get on the attack with the issues that have been mention above and show Democrats for who and what they truly are rather that allowing these liberal Socialists all the headlines and all of the coverage touting Bush, "failures, " and economic woes, the GOP can make great strides with voters and once again find the core of republican values that were lost during the final years as the Majority in Congress. It will take an aggressive campaign to do this but it can be done especially with the shambles that the Dems are in and the bickering that is taking place daily for the Democrat nomination.

John McCain is capitalizing on this with his campaign and it is now time for the remainder of the GOP to return to Conservative Republican values and take the offensive to the people with an eye toward the General Election in November and the Congress as well as the White House.

THE LIBERAL LIE CaRtOoN GaLLaRy AND YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up

The Three AM phone call. Someone should teach , "Mr. Experience, " HOW to answer the phone first!!! Not a toon but just could not resist adding to today's funnies!

YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up - Myrtle Beach, SC -- This actually happened last night right here in my neck of the woods. A man arrived at one of the local hospitals with a gun shot wound in the shoulder. When police questioned him about the wound he stated that a man in a black leather jacket shot him at a local restaurant.

Police went to the restaurant to investigate and found the , "victims, " car with a revolver in the front seat containing a spent round as well as a stash of marijuana. Upon checking out the, "victims, " record they also discovered that he was a convicted felon.

As it turns out the, "victim, " shot HIMSELF in the shoulder with the revolver that he had acquired illegally as he was already a convicted felon along with an illegal substance , (pot), in his possession which makes three strikes. The felon is still in the hospital recovering from his wound under police guard awaiting a full recovery and a trip back to prison for violating parole, having an illegal substance and being a convicted felon with a weapon. As Bugs Bunny says, "what a maroon! " - YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up

Dodging bullets from the press concerning ALL of her past deeds is what Hillary does best. That's if and when the press decides to stop giving this habitual liar a free pass!

YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up - BOSTON -- Call them Pavlov's fish: Scientists are testing a plan to train fish to catch themselves by swimming into a net when they hear a tone that signals feeding time.

If it works, the system could eventually allow black sea bass to be released into the open ocean, where they would grow to market size, then swim into an underwater cage to be harvested when they hear the signal.

What's next, teaching them to coat themselves in batter and hop inside a fryer? - YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up

Talk about the pot calling the kettle......well you know the rest. Obama and Hillary twenty plus years in a relationship that has become a political embarrassment. The difference is Hillary married hers!

YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up - CHICAGO -- An alleged thief wasn't fazed when workers at a Chicago muffler shop told him a safe he wanted to rob wasn't open. He just asked them to give him a call when their boss returned with the combination. The 18-year-old got a call. But so did Chicago police.

When Ruben Carate returned to Velasquez & Sons Mufflers For Less on Monday, plainclothes Chicago police officers shot and wounded him in the leg. Carate was charged Tuesday with attempted armed robbery and aggravated assault of a police officer, the Cook County state's attorney's office said.

"He gave us his phone number when we told him we didn't have any money. He told us to call him back when the owner came back with the money and he was going to come back and rob him," said worker Tony Diaz. "It's pretty funny now, but it wasn't at the time," Diaz said.

A masked man entered the shop with a gun and demanded money around 8 a.m., said mechanic Jose Sida. Employees told him they carried little cash and couldn't open the safe, so the man left two numbers to call when the owner came in, Sida said.

"No one could make this up," said police Lt. Scott Schwieger. The man returned around noon, wearing the same mask and clothing, he then tangled with police and tried to run and officers opened fire wounding him in the leg.

Wonder if he was with Verizon and asked, "can you here me now ?!?!?!?" - YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up

HILLARY CLINTON TAKES A PLAY FROM HUSBANDS PLAYBOOK TO COVER BLUNDER

In a move taken directly from the Bill Clinton political playbook, Hillary Clinton in an attempt to take the heat off of her, "misspoken, " remembrance of her trip to Bosnia, under, "sniper fire, " came out for the first time concerning her opinion about controversial Barack Obama preacher Jeremiah Wright.

Stating that he, "would not be my preacher, " in reference to the statements that have been made about The United States by Wright and the reference of God, "d*****g America rather than blessing her, Clinton not only condemned the statements but in essence made a political indictment about Obama for standing behind Wright and not distancing himself from the controversial preacher.

What makes this so blatantly political is the fact that until yesterday Clinton had considered this subject something that she chose to NOT talk about even when questioned. She has avoided this like the proverbial, "plaque, " whenever approached about the subject. Yet now that she has come under fire because of her claim that she was visiting Bosnia as First Lady and came under, "sniper fire, " upon landing, a statement made at least three times during this campaign and has be refuted both by eye witness and video accounts, Clinton now jumps on the Wright controversy to take the heat off of her.

This is a classic move taken directly from her husbands political playbook, redirect when things get hot in order to avoid facing the truth and accounting for problems. During his Administration when the Monica Lewinsky scandal was beginning to take root and the heat was intensifying for Bubba, several times in order to reduce the impact in the media Clinton launched Cruise Missiles into Iraq thus temporarily making the attacks the headline rather than the Lewinsky!

Hillary made a similar move concerning the Wright/Bosnia controversies. In order to take the heat off of her own blunder that has become a big story and an embarrassment to the campaign as well as personally to the candidate, Clinton lobbed a political, "Cruise Missile, " into the Obama camp by bringing up the Wright controversy which had died down to a certain extent in the media.

She has now brought it back to the fore front but her attempt to take the heat off of her situation has not worked entirely as the Bosnia videos and commentary about her stretching the truth as she did have continued in spite of her , "Cruise Missile, " efforts against Obama.

This also shows that anyone who believes that a Hillary Clinton administration would differ from that of her husband is greatly mistaken. At every opportunity in this campaign when the heat is on Hillary pulls yet another play out of the Bill Clinton playbook and follows in her hubby's footsteps. When push comes to shove, she is most likely the author of most of the Clinton political playbook.

The implosion of the Democrats in this Presidential campaign is continuing to escalate as proven by the last two days. When one controversy begins to die down another crops up immediately to take its place. Polls are still showing that the continued implosion of the Democrats is benefiting John McCain as Rasmussen and Zogby have McCain up by 9 and 6 respectively over Obama and by 5 and 8 over Hillary also respectively.

This campaign by the Dems will continue to heat up as the Convention draws closer and the much dreaded floor fight that even some Super Delegates fear is shaping up into one whale of a battle when the Dems convene to nominate in August!

HILLARY CLINTON, " MISSPEAKS, ", ( lies), AGAIN !

Hillary Clinton adds yet another misspoken phrase to her long list of lies and deception that she just brushes off as an, "oops." How this perennial liar can flippantly continue to lie to the public and pretend that it not only does not matter but should be taken lightly and brushed off as a mistake is beyond comprehension.

In case you missed it the New York Senator spoke in a recent campaign appearance touting her foreign policy, "experience, " recalling a trip that she and several other people including comedian Sinbad made to Bosnia. Clinton said the following concerning her trip to Bosnia while First Lady, "I certainly do remember that trip to Bosnia, and as Togo said, there was a saying around the White House that if a place was too small, too poor, or too dangerous, the president couldn't go, so send the First Lady. That’s where we went. I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base."

Of course no one else who went on the trip remembers is like Hillary does. In fact every account including VIDEO of the trip show Clinton and her party leaving the transport plane leisurely, walking across the tarmac and greeting several children and the Deputy Prime Minister who were awaiting her arrival. Sinbad stated after her claim of landing under , "sniper fire, " that he did not remember it the same way that Clinton did.

So what does Hillary the liar do to back peddle ? In a statement that was obviously designed to make her look as if she misspoke Clinton stumbled all over herself claiming that she speaks millions of words, " a day, "( millions ???), and that there was the, "threat, " of sniper fire and that she visited more than 80 countries and has , "contemporaneous, " accounts of her visits that are outlined in her book. Then attempted to clumsily apologize for her , "misstatement."

Give me a break ! I guess the smartest women in the world forgot that video clips as well as eye witness accounts would catch her in the lie that she deliberately spoke in a attempt to make her look like a great foreign policy guru and the best candidate for the Presidency since she has actual come under fire in her many foreign policy accomplishments, all sarcasm intended !

Hillary Clinton has no more foreign policy experience than any typical First Lady. When a First Lady visits a country she is not there as a foreign policy advisor nor as an official foreign policy spokesperson for the Administration but as a good will ambassador for the President. She may meet with officials in that country but it is not to discuss pressing foreign policy issues but as a photo opportunity to show that this country cares enough to send the President's wife for a visit.

At no time did she present foreign policy advise in any country she visited since that is first of all the responsibility of the State Department and the Secretary of State and the under secretaries. A good will visit by a First Lady to a country is not a foreign policy coup as Hillary is trying to suggest concerning her good will trip to Bosnia.

She obviously understands this fact which is also why she felt it necessary to stretch the truth by stating she landing in Bosnia under sniper fire. To claim that this is a misstatement also conflicts with prior statements where this perennial liar claims to have detailed recall of events and that too is one of her, "qualifications, " for being President since she has such a, "sharp, " memory giving her an advantage in the White House.

She knew before making her, "misstatement, " that she was falsely exaggerating her Bosnian trip to promote her, "experience, " and she figured that the press and those who accompanied her would give her a pass because of who she is. Well she figured wrong and she was caught in yet another lie that just adds to this trait that seems to be second nature to both Clinton's.

This is coming from someone campaigning to become the most powerful person in the World. Yet she feels it necessary to lie about trivial things in order to try and gain the office of President. Asking for the trust of the people of The United States to lead this Nation for the next four years yet she cannot find it in herself to tell the truth about minor subjects.

Inexperience, anti-military, blatant liar, Socialist and foreign policy imbecile. These are the , "qualifications, " of Hillary Rodham Clinton to be the next President ? I could not even trust this person for dog catcher because I would be concerned for the safety of the animals under her care.

EASTER MESSAGE OF HOPE AND CHANGE - THE SUNDAY COMMENTARY

Throughout this political year we have been bombarded with speeches, commercials and commentary about, "hope and change." Differing versions of who can and how much , "hope, " one candidate can offer. Differing versions of what type and how much , "change, " that another candidate will bring.

In the political arena this is to be expected and depending on ones political persuasion then we as Americans will choose our candidate based on our personal beliefs and whether that candidate has convinced us that their message of , "hope, " and , "change, " best fits with our view on the issues and our own conscience.

More than 2000 years ago a, " Man, " came to this Earth with a message of , "hope, " and , "change, " that even during His time on this planet sparked controversy and even political discord between the ruling Empire of Rome and their conquered land and people found in Judea. This, "Man, " brought with Him a message that has lasted through the ages. A Message that speaks to all mankind of , "hope, " for the hopeless and , "change, " even for the vilest of people.

His was not a message that was given for political gain. Nor was it shared to bring fame and position for Himself. His message was shared for the most selfless of motives....love. The message of hope and change that was shared with this World by this , "Man, " came from the Creator of all men though the life, death and Resurrection of our Creators Son. It was and still is a message of hope and change given only from pure , sacrificial and true love with its only reward for that love being the salvation of the World and the redemption of man.

This, "Man, " delivered His message of hope and change and it was received by many and rejected by many. A situation that this eternal message still finds in the World today more than 2000 years later. While He walked this Earth, this, "Man, " selflessly gave not only His message but Himself in order to insure that His selfless message of love would BE eternal. His reward for sharing this selfless message of hope and change was to face the cruelest of deaths that a cruel world has ever devised, nailed to a cross.

But He did not face this death forcibly. No He faced it willingly and lovingly because He knew that the only way to insure that His message of hope and change would last for all mankind was by giving His live in exchange for those to whom He was giving this loving message. It was for this that He came and it was for this that He died.

But this message of hope and change does not end there. No it ends, nay I should say actually begins with an empty tomb. For His message of hope and change shines from that empty tomb for all mankind that came before His time on earth, those to whom He personal delivered the message and we who have followed in the last 2000 years.

His sacrifice for giving this message on the cruel cross when one believes in that message of love that He gave from that cross can provide anyone from any walk of live, whether good or bad, vial or moral, change that will reshape that individual and reconcile them with a loving God who sent this , "Man, " for them.

The empty tomb that He left as He resurrected from the death on that cruel cross, provides hope that there is more to life than misery and woe but salvation that brings life eternal through the sacrifice, and resurrection of this, "Man, " who God our Creator called Son and in whom all things are possible.

As we each celebrate this Easter season as we may, remember that true hope and change comes from the love that was shared with each of us from a cross to a tomb and life springs eternal for everyone because of the Christ who came and shared the real and loving message of hope and change. Happy Easter to all.

THE LIBERAL LIE CaRtOoN GaLLaRy AND YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up

For twenty years Wright and Obama have been like two peas in a pod. Now all of a sudden Obama can't remember anything he said. THAT really bolsters confidence for his memory as Commander in Chief doesn't it. This guy is toast!!!!!

YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up - GREEN RIVER, Wyo. -- Some people catch fish and release them. Bill Wengert releases them and then catches them - a quarter-century later. In April 1983, Wengert and other state Game and Fish Department biologists stocked some 12,000 young trout in the Flaming Gorge Reservoir in southwest Wyoming.

Game and Fish spokeswoman Lucy Wold said Wengert was ice fishing recently on the 91-mile-long reservoir and caught a 23-inch Mackinaw trout, a type of lake trout.
Wengert noticed the trout's right pelvic fin had been clipped, indicating it was a hatchery fish that had been stocked. Examining historical stocking data, Wengert determined the fish was stocked on April 14, 1983. "I may have actually clipped the fins on this very fish, and I know I was driving the barge when the fish were stocked, nearly 25 years ago," Wengert said.

Wonder if I can drop a fish in my favorite lake and get it back later. My luck it will croak before I can get back home after dropping it there in the first place. Go figure! - YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up

Alfred E. Obama, "What ME Worry." Not only is he a great cover for Mad Magazine but his antics mirror those of the real Alfred E. Newman of the same magazine....sheesh!

YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up - SEASIDE, Calif. -- A 15-year-old girl who stopped an out-of-control school bus she was riding on was handed a Saturday detention instead because she was skipping school. Marina High School student Amanda Rouse was on a bus with 40 elementary school students Wednesday morning when the driver fell out of her seat after a turn and hit her head.

Rouse jumped up and applied the brakes, bringing the bus to a halt after striking two parked cars. No one was injured. She said had asked the bus driver for a ride because she felt sick at school. "She is in trouble with school because she made the wrong decision," said Rouse's grandmother, Sally Correll. "But I can't help but believe that she was where God wanted her to be."

Come on ....maybe this girl should get a break. Sometimes a situation in not plain black and white but needs to follow the gray areas instead. - YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up

Let's see if he defends Wright's hate speech by saying it was caused by anger from more than 200 years of problems, maybe Kim Jong Mentally Ill has a point about the evil United States. Or Achmanutjob is right about the Holocaust. Then again Hugo Chavez should blame the US for the poverty of his people because he has to have all those oil revenues for himself. Yes as Obama has told us we must be much more understanding about nut cases when they spew their hatred of America.......get real Barack!!!!!

YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up - GLOUCESTER, Mass. -- A prosciutto-wielding meat thief in Gloucester met his match when a restaurant owner fought off the assault by slamming the thief's face with a ham. Joe Scola of Scola's Place heard a noise in his restaurant last Wednesday, then saw a man fleeing with his arms full of meat from Scola's freezer. Scola caught up, and started taking the meat back.

That's when the man raised a five pound log of frozen prosciutto over his head, presumably to whack Scola. Luckily, Scola had his own frozen pig product on hand. Scola told the Gloucester Daily Times that he slammed the ham in the man's face, leaving a gash. The thief was so stunned, he dropped the meat and ran.

OBAMAS NIXONIAN SHAKESPEARE TRAGEDY

As the commentary and analysis of the , "great speech, " from Democrat candidate Barack Obama which was expected to explain his loyalty and whether his beliefs are aligned with his, "preacher, " Jeremiah Wright or not continues, I am reminded of a past political case in which loyalty over doing right was chosen.

But before I get into that I must agree with NPR and Fox News analysts Juan Williams who was a guest on Fox News immediately after the speech. Williams though admitting that the speech was delivered in the usual charismatic way, the fact that Obama did not distance himself from the controversial preacher nor explain how and why he has been in his congregation for twenty years and never separated himself from the anti-American and racist statements of Wright is the beginning of the political down fall of Barack Obama.

While Obama eloquently spoke of his loyalty to his friend and mentor he never distanced himself from Wright and in fact refused to acknowledge that because of the anti - American statements by Wright that as a Presidential candidate he not only could not agree but did not abide by the statements or the man who made them.

Anyone who understands what a mentor is also realizes that when one looks up to a mentor one also believes and follows the teachings and ideals of that mentor. Again another situation that Obama failed to address in his speech. Instead he chose to use the speech as a statement about race relations and the anger that he claims sparked the divisive statements of Jeremiah Wright.

His speech was one that rather than condemning the divisive hate speech of his preacher was more of a explanation as to why Obama believed that speech like that exists and tried to explain is away as a result of the feelings and experiences of Black Americans through out the history of The United States.

While Obama has not committed an illegal act by his loyalty to Wright his commitment to that loyalty does remind me of another tragic character in American politics. That person is Richard Nixon. First, I am in no way comparing the situations that Obama and Nixon found themselves in but the way that they handled those two very different situations are similar as far a loyalty to friends and the results of that misguided loyalty.

Nixon rather than going before the American people and taking action against illegal activities chose to stand by his loyalties to those who had performed the Watergate break in and instead covered up the activities and refused to not only distance himself from them but also became tangled in them to the point that it not only destroyed him personally but damaged the office of the Presidency in the process.

Obama's misguided loyalty to Jeremiah Wright are similar to those of Richard Nixon and the staff he chose to stand by instead of doing what was right and expose the break in and deal with it from a legal stand point. Obama's loyalty to Wright and his refusal to distance himself from a friend and, " mentor, " in spite of the fact that Wrights actions and statements are not only wrong but damaging to the country and to the political aspirations of Barcak Obama are similar to that misguided loyalty of Nixon.

Both chose to stick by loyalty rather than doing what is right for the country and themselves. Nixon's actions in his loyalty to friends brought him down because he tied himself to illegal activity and ended up committing some himself. Obama while not committing illegal activity is in like manner embracing statements and activities that are damaging to the nation and create a divisiveness between races as well as promoting hate among people whether white or black.

Jeremiah Wright at one point knowing that his divisiveness would be damaging to Obama told the liberal Democrat that he would have to distance himself from the controversial preacher. It is obvious now that Obama did not and is not heeding the advise of his mentor. There comes a time when everyone whether a politician or ordinary Americans must choose between loyalty and doing what is right.

Nixon chose his loyalties above doing what is right and destroyed himself , the Presidency and those around him. Barack Obama has also chosen loyalty rather than what is right and in like manner he has begun the end of his aspiration for higher office as well as sparked a divisive continuation to hatred and race problems that this nation has fought to over come through out our history.

MCCAIN WIN WITH ELECTORAL VOTE BREAKDOWN

While all of us have been following the polling in the head to head contest between John McCain and/or Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama one of the most telling polls that I have come across is the breakdown in Electoral Votes State by State.

As the polling shows now in Electoral votes John McCain would beat both Hillary and Obama with a comfortable margin over both Democrat candidates. In the head to head contest for Electoral votes McCain beats Clinton and Obama 263 - 239.

There are 36 toss up votes. Against Clinton those votes come from Wisconsin and Tennessee. In 2004 Tennessee went to the GOP and Wisconsin went to the Democrats. Factoring in the last results this would add 11 to McCain and 17 to Clinton which still gives McCain a victory at 274 to Clinton's 256.

Against Obama the States of Virginia, New Jersey and Michigan are a toss up. Again based on 2004 results, New Jersey and Michigan went to the Democrats while Virginia went GOP. Factoring in those numbers John McCain would win 276 - 271. There are 270 votes required to win the Presidency. The State by State breakdown factors in which candidate is leading in polling from that State. These numbers also include the larger normally Democrat States like Californian and New York going Democrat

With this breakdown State by State and the Electoral Votes needed for Victory, John McCain will be the next President unless a dramatic shift occurs between now an November.

JOHN MCCAIN COMMANDER IN CHIEF, HILLARY AND OBAMA FIGHTING IN THE PLAYGROUND

With the Republican nomination all but official John McCain took advantage of the battle that is taking place between Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama for the Democrat nomination and made an anticipated but until his arrival secret visit to Iraq to see first hand the success of the surge.

While the Dems are duking it out like two children on a playground, John McCain took on the look of Commander in Chief as he visited with the troops, Commanders and Iraqi Government officials. As a member of the Armed Services Committee he and Senators Lindsay Graham, (R SC) and Joe Lieberman , ( I Conn), who are also members of the Committee payed the visit as a fact finding mission for the Committee. Of course in this Presidential year the trip also cannot help but benefit McCain's run for the White House.

McCain met with General Patraeus as well as Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Barham Saleh. McCain was asked at one point by reporters about militants in Iraq attempting to influence Novembers election. He stated that it is a worry because, " we know they pay attention, because of the intercepts we have of their communications." Just before the 2004 Presidential Election violence increased in Iraq as an attempt by Al Qaeda to influence the election in favor of John Kerry, which of course did not succeed.

From Iraq McCain and company will proceed to Israel, France and Great Britain meeting with leaders in each country. This visit by McCain will be extremely advantageous for the GOP nominee especially with the implosion that is taking place with Democrats and the fight between the two candidates as well as revelations that continue to arise especially about Obama.

Latest polling has had a dramatic shift toward McCain with the largest change coming in a head to head match up between McCain and Obama. Rasmussen has had a ten point shift from Obama leading by four to McCain leading by six which now takes it our of the margin of error.

The latest Zogby Poll is even more dramatic. Against Clinton, McCain leads 45 - 39 which also takes it out of the margin of error. McCain had previously lead by only two and three points. Against Obama McCain leads 44 - 39 which to is a shift of nearly 11 points from previous polls by Zogby. Zogby takes into account the Ralph Nadar factor which is not included in other polling.

Nadar has once again announced he is running on the Green Party ticket. In 2000 he garnered about 3% of the national vote, a percentage that many believe took enough from Al Gore to give Bush the victory. In the Zogby polling Nadar is showing at 6% in a McCain - Clinton match up and at 5% in a McCain - Obama match up. So the perennial Presidential candidate is once again having his effect on the Democrat candidates.

The Nadar factor combined with the continual fiasco that is taking place between the Democrats, the news that Dem donors are beginning to rebel against the party and the candidates and the growing flak about Obama , his preacher and the racist under tones that are attributed to , "preacher, " Wright and Obama's wife have had large impact on voters which has benefited John McCain.

This along with McCain's calm campaign and his ability now that he has the nomination sown up freeing him to make trips to Iraq, the Middle East and Europe in performing his Senatorial duties has not only taken McCain to the lead for 2008 but many analysts concede that the White House is now well within his grasp as the Democrat implosion shows no sign of ending and in fact continues to escalate into the Convention and beyond.

THE DEMOCRAT IMPLOSION - THE SUNDAY COMMENTARY

The heated campaign for the 2008 Democrat nomination is not just creating headlines as Hillary and Obama duke it out for the top spot but it has begun to erode the party and it looks as if the implosion that many have anticipated has finally begun.

Not only is the battle for the nomination heating up with Hillary now calling for Obama to drop out and take the VP spot with her at the top of the ticket, ( which will not happen before the Convention if at all), but party loyalists are beginning to show their disgust with what is happening with the candidates and the campaign.

The Drudge Report headlined on Saturday that donors are threatening to stop giving because of the decision by the party to exclude Florida and Michigan from seating their delegates at the Convention for moving their Primary dates up against party rules. Some are actually threatening to demand refunds for donations already given.

The candidates themselves are not helping the situation as the implosion of the party begins growing. Hillary as mentioned, though in second in delegate count, is hitting the TV circuit and calling for unity under her banner with Obama bowing and and taking the under card. This along with the increasing revelations concerning statements made by Obama's preacher who claims America was reaping what we sowed on September 11 and that God should d*** America have caused concern within party circles.

These troubles and the fight between the candidates with mudslinging that has a new look each day has the match up with McCain for November looking better for the GOP each day. McCain has consistently polled better than Hillary but has always polled between three and six points behind Obama in National Polls.

The latest Rasmussen poll now has McCain ahead of Hillary by four points and by six over Obama. This is the first time McCain has polled better than Obama. The clash within the party and the dodging of tough questions combined with his association and defense of Preacher Wright and ties to other radicals like Lewis Farrakhan have begun to take there toll on the to this point untouchable Barak.

The continued concern over the Super Delegates deciding the nominee at the Convention is also worrying party officials as voters, donors and delegates assigned by the vote count from their State are starting to question the power of the Super Delegates in choosing the nominee. Since they are not required to vote as their State did in the Primaries, super Delegates are free to choose who they wish and back room dealings for their vote have already begun.

The revelation of the investigation followed by the resignation of Elliot Spitzer as New York's Governor ,his dealings with prostitutes and his $ 80, 000 dollar habit have also not helped in the perception of the Democrat Party with voters.

If this trend continues and the problems keep showing their face while the heated fight between the candidates continues the Democrats will find themselves in a fix come September regardless of who their nominee is.

John McCain on the other hand is continuing to hone his message and is touring the country campaigning against both Hillary and Obama and as the polling show that to is beginning to have a positive effect for the GOP. McCain has also capitalized on the statement that Hillary made concerning the 3 AM phone call and who do voters want in the White House when that call comes.

Of course she was referring to the inexperience of Obama compared to her but it has instead worked to the advantage of McCain whose experience for that 3 AM call fare exceeds Hillary and Obama's

While Republicans still await the decision as to who his running mate will be, we can rest assured in the fact that as long as the Democrats continue this implosion, a situation that will not be ending before the Convention and very possibly will continue into the final push for November, the GOP can look forward to a very successful night come November 4, 2008 with the Presidency and possible pick up in the House as well. If the implosion worsens as it very well could we may find a stronger GOP presence in the Senate as well.

BUSH TAX CUT VOTE - MCCAIN YES, HILLARY AND OBAMA NO

The Senate voted today on extending the Bush tax cuts which have been credited with many economic boosts among those spurring the economy in the wake of 9/11 and the recession Bush inherited from Clinton.

The Senate vote was 52 - 47. But the most telling votes were those made by the 2008 Presidential candidates. John McCain the GOP nominee voted yes for the extension while Hillary and Obama voted no. The two liberal Democrats tried to claim that their no vote was because the tax cuts benefited the upper middle class and the rich. In other words the usual liberal mantra about the evil rich. Obama and Clinton both promise to reverse Bush's tax cuts for wealthier taxpayers, but the Democratic budget they'll be voting for would allow income tax rates to go up on individuals making as little as $31,850 and couples earning $63,700 or more. Not very rich by anyones standards!

So as America decides which candidate really is FOR the American people and allowing Americans to keep their money and not the government. John McCain is the clear winner in this debate!

Isn't it fun to watch the Dems go at each other like kids on a playground fighting over whose turn it is to kick the ball ? Keep it up Hillary and Barack, the GOP and John McCain appreciate your assistance in electing a GOP President !

YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up - MUNICH, Germany -- A woman was stopped at Munich airport after baggage control handlers found the skeleton of her brother sealed in a plastic bag in her luggage, police said Wednesday. The 62-year-old woman and her 63-year-old friend, who both live in Italy, were hauled in by airport police Tuesday after a scan of the bag showed a human skull and other bones. The women were traveling to Italy from Brazil.

It turned out, however, that the woman was simply trying to fulfill the last wish of her brother - who died 11 years ago in Sao Paulo, Brazil - to be buried in Italy. The travelers produced the appropriate papers from Brazilian authorities for the unusual transport, and were allowed to carry on their way to Naples - bones and all.

I have often wondered what happened when someone took the, "skeletons out of the closet ." Now we know!!!! - YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up

Hope and Change. The only hope that Obama really offers is hoping he never makes it to the White House. That change....well he has changed the Democrat Party FURTHER to the left!!!!

YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up - NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- A "sniff squad" of trained noses is being called in to root out Northampton's landfill odors. The city has hired specially trained stink-sniffers to help determine whether the dump is too pungent for neighboring homeowners to stand. Northampton officials signed a $25,000 contract with an Agawam environmental company after state officials ordered independent testing of landfill odors.

Using little more than their own noses, the super sniffers are trained to detect and rate the strength of rotting trash, landfill gases and other unpleasantries. Rating on a 1 to 8 scale - roughly, from bearable to foul beyond belief - the sniffers also judge the smells against a kit they carry of ready-to-sniff odors of various intensities.

Just picturing this one is enough to get your laugh cycle started. Imagine a group of people walking down the street with their noses stuck up in the air. And they are NOT elitist Democrats looking DOWN their noses at others. Then all of a sudden you hear a chorus of, " sniff, sniff, sniff, sniff." You would think that citizen complaints would be enough without , "hiring, " professional sniffers to determine the extent of the stink. Government at work!! - YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up

You know if Spitzer had contacted Bubba BEFORE he spent $80, 000, Bubba could have found Elliot , "companionship, " for free. After all Bubba IS the expert. God riddance to BAD news!!!!

YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up - CHURCH HILL, Tenn. -- Investigators are searching for whomever poured deer urine into an air conditioning unit at a school in eastern Tennessee. About a dozen students became ill after the prank at Volunteer High School in Church Hill.

Firefighters were sent to the school Monday after the odor became overpowering in one classroom, and paramedics treated students who complained of headache and nausea. Church Hill Police Chief Mark Johnson says the stunt could result in a vandalism charge. Deer urine is sold by the bottle to be used to attract the animals for hunting.

I have always wondered who the poor smucks who gather the urine for the company who bottle Deer urine are. These guys must REALLY be desperate for a job!!!! -YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up

DEMOCRAT DILEMMA WITH FLORIDA AND MICHIGAN

Howard Dean, DNC Party Chairman, made what many consider a tough move in refusing to seat the delegates from both Florida and Michigan because both States broke party rules and moved their Primaries up. These same States also moved the GOP Primary up by the RNC used a little common sense and only penalized the States half their delegates which allowed the vote in Florida and Michigan to at least count for something both in the Primary and at the GOP Convention.

Now the DNC is faced with a huge dilemma. Not only are they getting plastered by more than 2.5 million voters who participated in the Primaries in both States about their vote not counting, but the Governors, State party officials and yep you guessed it the winner of both Dem Primaries, Hillary Clinton, pressuring the DNC to repeat the Primary.

When this move to exclude Florida and Michigan delegates from the Convention took place no one dreamed that these delegates, (156 for Mich. and 210 for FL), would wind up becoming as important to the nomination as they have become. After all when all of this happened Hillary was the presumptive nominee and it was never even taken into consideration that she would fall in the polls and during the Primaries as she has and this would actually become a real race.

Now both States are pushing for a repeat Primary. The DNC now must consider either allowing the vote to stand and assign delegates accordingly, which would cause the Obama camp to go ballistic since he, unlike Hillary, followed party guidelines and pulled out of Michigan and did not campaign in Florida.

The other option is to repeat the entire Primary as if the first never happened. This seems to be the way the issue is leaning but then it becomes a financial problem in both States as the State itself finances a Primary and not the DNC which means the millions that it costs to hold a Primary that has already been spent once must be spent again at tax payer expense. Which is causing a rather understandable back lash with citizens in both States.

Hillary has repeatedly called for counting the votes as they stand. In fact she is playing the voter, "disenfranchised, " card claiming how unfair it is to the States voters. She said, “If you are a voter from Florida or Michigan, you know that we should count your vote. The nearly two and a half million Americans in those two states who participated in the primary elections are in danger of being excluded from our democratic process and I think that’s wrong. The results of those primaries were fair and they should be honored."

Of course if she had lost the Primaries I am sure she would be singing another tune. Looking at it from yet another angle when it comes to Obama supporters, if the Primary results are honored as Hillary is demanding, then his supporters will be disenfranchised, since he pulled out of Michigan and many who may have supported Obama stayed at home in Florida because they new it would not matter anyway!

The Dems have really dug themselves a hole with this debacle and Howard Dean must be pulling what hair he has left out as he contemplates what to do to try to satisfy all concerned while keeping the party from imploding and going to war over this situation.

Even if the both primaries are repeated and all the delegates are seated it does not insure that a change will take place in the delegate count and the lead for the two candidates. Remember that Dems proportion the delegates according to over all percentages and unless Hillary completely annihilates Obama in both States she will only close the gap and not take over the lead.

To be honest with you it is a joy to watch the Dems beating themselves up over this nomination. Even if the Primaries are repeated the war that is taking place will continue and will come to a head at the Convention with a blow up that will be the equivalent of a political Hiroshima. I have never been much on watching the Democrat Convention but this year may very well be the exception because it is going to be a doozy!

All the while John McCain is calmly honing his message against the Dems. Emphasizing the inabilities of both candidates especially as Commander in Chief. Hitting the campaign trail, discussing the issues and the telling voters why Hillary and Obama should not be President. They on the other hand are showing their political tails as they lash out for the nomination and voters are seeing the difference between chaos and calm, professionalism and anarchy, leadership and indecisiveness. All to the advantage of John McCain and the GOP.

HILLARY PUSHING FOR, " DUEL, " TICKET

For the third time in the last week Hillary Clinton has publicly suggested that she and Barack Obama set aside their differences in the heated campaign to gain the Democrat nomination and combine together to create the Democrat ticket. Of course the stickler here is that she take the top of the ticket and Obama take the VP.

Obama's response to this has been what one would expect from the candidate who, in spite of recent wins by Hillary in the Primaries, still has the lead in delegates for the nomination. Obama has not only said no to the proposition but has added that the Clinton's are touting that he is not ready to be Commander in Chief, ( which he is not, nor is she), but yet are willing to offer him the VP slot which means that if she were elected he is only a heartbeat from being Commander in Chief.

Either option of course is a frightening thought, Hillary being President and either one being Commander in Chief, but never the less Obama is not exactly open to the idea. I have written in a previous post that I believe Hillary though behind in the delegate count has the upper hand at this point for the nomination for three reason:

1. - neither candidate can gain the nomination before the Convention because there are not enough delegates left, which means Super Delegates will decide the nomination. She has the advantage here because more of them owe her than Obama.

2. - Super Delegates will choose a candidate who they think can delivery the big States. Though Obama has won more States, Hillary has won ALL of the big States. Cal, NY, NJ, FL, Mich, TX, Oh, and has a double digit lead in Penn.

3. - Florida and Michigan are heavily leaning toward repeating their Primaries in order to seat delegates at the Convention. Both were won by Hillary and she has a strong advantage in a repeat.

But more than these three reasons make me believe that the Clinton's have not only something up there deceiving, scheming sleeves to gain the nomination but also know something that Obama does not. Clinton's never go public in a fight unless they believe they have an advantage , no matter how that advantage is gained, over their opposition.

Hillary has been so adamant about Obama taking the VP slot and conceding the race that I believe her back room dealings in the party and with the Super Delegates has not only already begun but has provided her with a strong enough response for her ascension to the nomination that has believes she has it in the bag provided she can convince Obama to sign on.

Clinton's never play a straight hand when it comes to the poker of politics. They always have an Ace up their sleeve and for Hillary to push the combined ticket idea as much as she is she must have TWO Aces up her sleeve and a strong enough private commitment through back room politics and promises made that her confidence is high enough to broadcast this idea so the media can build on it.

Obama has strong enough support from the voters that the sly dealings of the Clinton's now and during the Convention are going to produce a war, the likes of which have never been seen in a political race for the nomination of any party.

The 1976 race between Ronald Reagan and then President Gerald Ford was heated at the Convention with Reagan almost unseating an incumbent President but that will look like a gentleman's game of chess compared to the fight that is shaping up for the Democrats between Hillary and Obama.

She has proven throughout their career that nothing is beneath them when it comes to gaining the Presidency. Bubba gave us many examples while he was running and again while President and Hillary was a force behind many of the scandals and bitterness that became somewhat of a persona during the Clinton campaign in the 1992 election and their Administration.

Their firm belief that they are destined to the Presidency, first him and now her, makes any type of move, action, deception or wheeling and dealing good bad or indifferent possible and as usual the Clinton's are the experts at destroying any obstacle between them and the political power they crave more than air itself.

WE ARE THE, "NEXT, " REAGAN - THE SUNDAY COMMENTARY

Since 1989 and especially since his death in 2004 Ronald Reagan's iconic status among Conservatives and among the general public has risen considerably. With Republicans the dream of another Reagan constantly permeates within the party and again especially Conservatives.

This dream of another Reagan is justifiable by we Conservatives and Republicans because Reagan encompassed all of the best in our party and the Conservative movement. He exemplified strength of character, principles and beliefs so much so that even those who were political rivals not only respected him by admired him at the same time.

Since his retirement from the Presidency the cry of who will be the, "next Reagan, " arises every election cycle. In fact the dream of finding the,"next Reagan, " has been felt in GOP political circles for twenty years. Politicians from both sides of the isle quote him. Documentaries about this great man are shown regularly. Every GOP debate that has taken place since he retired has had almost as an underlying theme of how can a candidate be like Reagan.

There is a longing in Conservatism , Republicanism and in politics in general for another Ronald Reagan. I am one who would love to see one like him myself. Reagan was special and to me even more so because I was raised in California, ( a distinction that I sometimes am embarrassed to admit), and lived through eight years of Reagan's Governorship and then eight years of his Presidency.

When he retired from the White House on Inauguration day 1989 I was 32 years old. Ronald Reagan had been an important part of my life for nearly half of my days at that time and as such when he died in 2004, I felt like I had lost family and cried like a baby at his funeral. I am not ashamed to admit that I loved the man and to this day still miss him. I am sure many of your feel the same.

This current Presidential race like all of those since 1989 again have invoked the memory and legacy of Reagan and the cry has arisen once again looking for the , "next Reagan." Many since the ascension of John McCain to the GOP nomination have even said that we should let the Democrats win this year because it took, " four years of Carter to make Reagan."

I have news for those of you who may think this, Carter did not make Reagan. Reagan made Reagan and his ascension to the heights of the GOP had already begun long before Carter became President. His principles, beliefs and his eternal optimism were not made by Carter but came from the heart of a very disciplined, patriotic and principled man who was destined to greatness yet was humbled by the greatness that he achieved.

Reagan always prayed that he was worthy of the trust, love and respect that was given him and strove every day to live up to the greatness that he was. So it is no wonder that we are always looking for the, "next Reagan." While all the while knowing that there never will be or can be another like him because he was one of a kind and as Confederate General Lewis Armistead once said of his friend Union General Winfield Hancock during the battle of Gettysburg, " God doesn't make 'em any better."

Yet Reagan's legacy lives on and if we will but understand who he was and what he believed we will see that WE are the , "next Reagan." Those of us who found and /or honed our political beliefs and principles under the tutelage of this great man are his legacy and it is we who carry the torch as the, "next Reagan."

He instilled within us his eternal optimism. He showed us the , "shining city on the hill, " and we understood and believed that to be the beauty and light of liberty that is found only in this great Nation. Reagan believed with all of his heart in the American people and the indomitable spirit of freedom that each of us who call ourselves Americans have as we live and breath under the umbrella of liberty given by God and formed by the Founding Fathers in those precious Documents that gave birth to our Nation.

We stand on the principles of Conservatism that he reminded us of and Governed by throughout his tenure as President. But we constantly look for another Reagan to lead us in the daily fight for our Conservative beliefs and principles. Yet one of the many things that he taught us was that it is not Washington or the politicians who must make that stand and fight the good fight for Conservative values and principles but, "We the People."

Since his passing from the public stage and from the bonds of this Earth we have forgotten that he taught us not to look for the , "next Reagan, " but to stand as he did in the freedom and liberties that are The United States and always see the , "shining city on the hill, " that light of liberty that is within each of us and this great land.

Remembering that it is, "We the People, " who determine the direction of this Nation and what our elected officials in Washington and in each of our respective States do as they serve us at their posts in which WE place them. It is , "We the People, " who determine the agenda in which our candidates stand and the platforms that they present as they run for elected office.

So my fellow Americans, where is the , "next Reagan ?" Look in the mirror and even more so in the mirror of your soul, that which is always referred to as the core of our beliefs and principles and remember the legacy of Ronald Reagan that he instilled within each of us during those glorious days that we had with him as Governor and President.

Always believe and see this Nation as he did, that , "shining city on the hill, " glowing with hope and liberty for the world. Remembering as he did that Government is not the problem solver but the problem period. Remembering as he did that it is , "We the People, " who make those we elect responsible to us and hold them accountable as our servants for those principles and beliefs that Reagan brought out from deep within us and helped us realize that those core believes are a source of pride and strength in each of us.

So who is the , "next Reagan ? " He is right here in the heart and soul of every Conservative. and within the core of all Republicans. He is found in our hearts and our principles and especially when we stand for what we believe and hold those who we have as candidates and those elected to office accountable to us. He is found in our vote, in our political activism and in our values. Reagan is here and now my friends. All we need do is remember and take that which he taught us and use it as we select our next President and those who will serve us in Congress.

THE LIBERAL LIE CaRtOoN GaLLaRy AND YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up

No , "hope, " in either Hillary or Obama making any type of, "change, " in typical liberal/Socialists politics. Raise taxes, increase Government entitlements forcing a continual growing dependency by Americans, decimate the military and surrender to our enemies while nominating Judges who legislate from the bench. Yep , no hope for change !

YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up - LOS ANGELES -- An Eagle Rock schoolteacher doesn't want any bugs squashed in her classroom, so she's appointed a student insect monitor to take wiggling, creepy critters outside. Melodie Conrad's be-kind-to-bugs effort is getting praise from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, which is giving her its Compassionate Teacher Award.

The Eagle Rock Elementary School & Magnet Center teacher says there's simply too much violence in society, adding, "I just wanted to be careful that they're exposed to just the opposite in this room." It's not a matter of creating bug activists. Conrad says she is aiming to instill a sense of respect for life.

You know what , "bugs, " me about this ? I mean other than its utter stupidity......oh excuse me ....... I had to wipe the fly off my monitor screen that I just squished ! Oh well .....'nuff said! - YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up

No matter which one is doing the pointing both are just pointing at two side of the same coin. Not one iotas worth of difference between the two. Well she does yell more!

YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up - PASCO, Wash. -- What happened to faking a cough? Sheriff's detectives in Franklin County said a man had his friend shoot him in the shoulder so he wouldn't have to go to work. When he first spoke with deputies, Daniel Kuch, of Pasco, told them he'd been the victim of a drive-by shooting while he was out jogging Thursday. But detectives told KONA radio that Kuch later acknowledged that he asked his friend to shoot him so he could get some time off work and avoid an upcoming drug test.

The friend, Kurtis Johnson, of Burbank, has been arrested for investigation of reckless endangerment. Kuch was booked into the county jail and is expected to be charged with false reporting.

The , "Blue Flu, " with a gun ? Now that is what I call really hating your job. As Bugs Bunny would say, " what a maroon ! " - YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up

Have you ever noticed that Hillary's true experience in never mention when she makes a campaign speech ? The experience of corruption, those are her major and actually only , "qualifications."

YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up - LA CROSSE, Wis. -- It was the perfect gift for someone born on Feb. 29 - a Leap Day grandchild. As Julie Austin of Galesville prepared to observe her Leap Year birthday on Friday, she was hoping to share the special day with the latest addition to her family.

And that's what happened when her daughter, Melissa Boudreau, gave birth to a girl at 3:23 a.m. at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center. Adilyne Rejoyce weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces and was 20 inches long. "I'm so thrilled," said Austin, who was born Feb. 29, 1956. "I never thought we'd have two Leap Day babies in our family, and to have a granddaughter on my birthday is so special."

So let's see...born in 1956 on the 29th.....this is 2008, so that means she became a Grandmother at 13. That is if you only count the leap years. - YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up

MCCAIN CLINCHES, HILLARY REVIVES AND OBAMA STILL HAS LITTLE TO SAY

The second Super Tuesday of this Primary season is now history and the big winners are John McCain and Hillary Clinton. Barack Obama won Vermont but for the Dems this day belonged to Hillary.

With the GOP nominee a definite now McCain can put aside Primary politics and concentrate totally on beating the Democrat whomever that may be. His campaign will now take on a new phase as McCain will be able to center on the issues that separate the Republicans from the Democrats. The War, taxes, increased Government programs proposed by the Dems and The Supreme Court are among the top issues.

For the Democrats, Hillary's wins have created a much more competitive situation with Hillary having a rather strong advantage over Obama. While Obama has a slight delegate lead 1451 to Hillary's 1365, she has a stronger position going into the Convention now that it has become obvious that the nominee will be decided by the Super Delegates.

With the States remaining neither candidate can garner enough delegates to gain the nomination out right without the Super Delegates. Also their is a strong movement to repeat the Florida Primary because none of the Florida delegates will be seated at the Convention and the State party is protesting the move by the DNC that disqualified them because of moving their Primary date up.

So with Florida possibly coming back into the picture, a state that Hillary has already won and in which she would have a strong lead in a repeat Primary and the fact that her standing with Super Delegates has improved tremendously because of her wins in especially Texas and Ohio, deciding the nominee is an absolute advantage to Hillary.

While Obama has the current lead in delegates, Hillary is going to the Convention with the big States in her pocket. She has, California, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Florida, Michigan and Texas in her win column. Obama though winning more States and delegates has not won any of the larger States.

The Super Delegates will be looking at which candidate has a better chance of winning against the GOP and that candidate will have to have the ability to bring the larger States into the Democrat fold in a General Election. Obama has not shown this while Hillary has. This combined with the fact that in the back room deals that will be taking place the Super Delegates owe more to Hillary than they do to Obama and I am also sure that Bill will be around to do a considerable amount of arm twisting.

If she had a poor showing in Texas and Ohio she would have been a dead horse candidate who would most likely have held on until the Convention under great pressure to drop out. But her strong showing in these two States combined with the large States she already has give her a definite Convention advantage.

She realizes this as was proven in an appearance on the Today Show this morning. Hillary suggested that she and Obama should share the Democrat ticket with her at the top of the ticket because, "the people of Ohio very clearly said that it should be me."

This may very well be the likely scenario when all is said and done after the Convention. While Hillary is suggesting that it should happen now, I do not believe that Obama will concede the nomination to her yet and plans to hold out for the Convention. His strong showing in the Primaries all but forces Hillary to choose him as her VEEP if she receives the nomination.

Obama on the other hand will not necessarily have to choose Hillary and I do not believe that the VEEP spot on the ticket is one that she will accept even if offered. She wants the top or nothing and at the moment she has the advantage for the top of the ticket.

With the infighting that will be taking place over the next few months before and during the Democrat Convention to decide their nominee, I believe that the GOP has an advantage as both parties come out of their respective Conventions into the final push for November.

The Dems will have an all out war to choose their nominee while the GOP has already been chosen. The GOP Convention will be a cheer leading affair with the only mystery to come out of the Convention being who McCain will choose as a running mate. The GOP will go into the final push looking calm and organized while the Dems will begin their final push following a Convention at war and a considerable amount of back deal brokering with Super Delegates which will leave a bad taste in the mouths of those delegates chosen by the voters.

As always there is still a considerable amount of water to go under the bridge before the Democrat Convention at the end of August and the Republican Convention Labor Day Weekend. But this much is certain, the GOP can now concentrate fully on defeating the Democrats in November while the Dems have several more months to fight amongst themselves for the nomination.

The GOP will be able to define their message against the Dems and directly talk to the voters during the same months that the Dems are still concentrating on the differences between their two candidates. Advantage GOP for November!
