THE REAL OBAMA AND THE UNITED NATIONS

Barak Obama has garnered his tenth Primary win in a row and is the leader for the Democrat nomination. While Hillary is not out yet because of huge delegates numbers still available from Texas, Ohio and Pennsylvania which hold their Primaries on March 4th, she is struggling and the 4th has become a must win situation for the Senator from New York.

Obama has long been the Rock Star in the Democrat Party and with the general weariness of yet another Clinton in the White House, this Senator from Illinois who has no experience at all and has accomplished nothing as a US Senator has caught on like wild fire because he sounds good, has great charisma and calls as friend Oprah Winfrey.

What type of President would he make if, Heaven forbid, he wins the Democrat nomination and defeats John McCain in November. In 2007 Obama had the most liberal voting record among every Senator even surpassing Hillary by 15 places as she was number 16 on the liberal list to Obama's first place.

He has proposed massive entitlements programs and huge government spending as well as calling for immediate pull out from Iraq and a general surrender to Islamic Terrorism since he beleives that because of his Muslim back ground he would have the capability to talk with these fanatic murderers. Besides this delusion the Senator from Illinois has no clue as to how these finatics think and why they act as they do or he would understand that killing them first is the ONLY answer.

A vote that is taking place in the Senate on Thursday of this week gives key insight as to what a Barack Obama Administration would hold for the Country. Obama has sponsored the, "Global Poverty Act, " and Joseph Biden , Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee is pushing the bill through Committee without any debate because of who is sponsoring the bill and its favortism with liberal causes as well as showing some, "accomplishment, " for Obama.

"The Global Poverty Act, " is a UN sponsored program that provides funding for impoverished nations with the idea that this money would feed the hungry in the Third World. Now we all know how corrupt the UN is when it comes to spending money and the funding actually arriving at the location and for the purpose it was intended. Need I mention the , "Oil for Food, " scandal that took place in Saddam's Iraq ?

Obama' s bill if passed would require the United States to appropriated 0.7 percent of our Gross National Product to the United Nations every year which equates to $845 BILLION dollars over 13 years at the present GNP total. Now of course as that total goes up the appropriation would follow as the funding is based on a percentage and not a fixed number. At the current GNP this , "funding, " to the United Nations equals $65 BILLION dollars per year.

All going to the most corrupt organization in the world and as usual, a blank check without accountability to the United States for the spending of monies reciveved. You'll never guess where this money is supposed to come from ? You got it the American tax payer, which is what Democrats beleive is their obligation, to spend our money because we just do not know what to do with it ourselves.

This one piece of legislation is a clear sign of what a Barack Obama Administration would bring to this nation. Globalization with the United States bowing at the alter of the United Nations. A weakened military making us vulnerable to attack. Massive entitlements with tax increases to offset the additional spending required.

Less money in our pockets and a general disintigration of our freedoms and liberties as Obama and his liberal friends increase government dependency, creating a more intrusive and powerful Federal System, regulating and taxing private companies out of business while breaking the backs of hard working Americans and those who provide the jobs with a tax burden to cover their spending!

Wow, that is scary and I am sure there are scarier things lurking beneath Obama and Hillary's murkey waters. I really hope neither one of them win.

Ken, where are you getting your financial figures from? There is no possible way that Obama has proposed specific budgetary requirements tied to GNP when he is running for President. Obama is not an idiot.

You can read the bill yourself. Click Here.

There are no budgetary specifications. I think you are getting some false info and spreading along scary rumors that have no basis in fact.

In reality, this is a bi-partisan effort that has significant support from many Republicans. It is being voted through (it passed the House several months ago), so that it can help coordinate some of the State Department's activities in an effort to build American goodwill around the world.

This has nothing to do with the U.N. and all management of any efforts to curb global poverty will be done by the State Department (which is managed in the Executive Branch).

Ken, you really should read the bill and get some of the objective info before making such inflammatory (and incorrect) claims.

To your final point that alludes to some type of fiscal irresponsibility on the part of Dems. That is a real laugh.

Bush and the Republican Congress exploded the National Debt and government spending to the point where we actually owe more than $2.3 trillion in U.S. government debt to foreign banks.

The greatest long-term national security threat to the U.S. is not al Qaeda. A couple of hundred hard-core suicide bombers pales in comparison to the infiltration of foreign governments into our financial markets and financial institutions.

China, OPEC nations, rich Arab sheiks, etc. own a big chunk of America and they are gaining controlling interests in American financial institutions such as Citi, Merrill Lynch, etc.

But don't worry about George W., Cheney, and their pals. They are heavily invested in Middle Eastern firms and funds and through their investments in Carlyle and other multinational companies they will be just fine.

Rob, the budgetary requirements are part of the bill. There are several links that give details about how much by doing a google search ...barack obama united nations.

The figures that I included are part of that legislation.

Rob,

It doesn't matter how many facts you post here, the conservatives only believe their own dogma.

They think Democrat's will:
1. Raise taxes
2. Socialize America
3. Not be tough on terroism

They will never admit that:

1. We are all much father in debt because GWB, GHWB and RR never met a program they wouldn't fund.

2. We are now more vulnerable to attack because we pursued the wrong objectives after 9/11. Iraq had nothing to do with anything and was only a slight of hand to convince the US population there was a tie to terrorism.

3. For all the talk of trying to get government out of peoples lives the Republican party has done more to get into everyones life and spy on citizens of the USA.

"Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety"

The bottom line is the Republicans have made us more in debt, less safe and more vulnerable to foreign influence because so much of our country is controlled by foreign interests.

They keep chanting the same old lines hoping some small group of very low IQ people with believe what they say rather than looking at the facts. I love every time they warn that the Democrats will spend more money. How can you do worse than selling your children and your grandchildren out to cut taxes for the rich and fight a war that never was about the true objectives. Only a very selfish group can promote these ideas as if they are good for the country.

They are so closed minded that they can't even figure out why they are in so much trouble this year in the elections.

LMAO, Ken I want some of the dope you are you smoking?

Your conservative buddies have run us into the poor house and you are worried about the Democrats!

FROM SURPLUS TO DEFICIT:
Legislation Enacted Over the Last Six Years
Has Raised the Debt by $2.3 Trillion
by Richard Kogan and Matt Fiedler

"The On-Budget surplus in 2000 was $86 billion. A combination of tax cuts and spending initiatives has added over $2.3 trillion to the national debt since then. The annual On-Budget deficit for 2006 was $434 billion.[31] Most debt was accumulated as a result of tax cuts and increased national security spending. According to economists Richard Kogan and Matt Fiedler, "the largest costs — $1.2 trillion over six years — resulted from the tax cuts enacted since the start of 2001. Increased spending for defense, international affairs, and homeland security — primarily for prosecuting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan — also was quite costly, amounting to almost $800 billion to date. Together, tax cuts and the spending increases for these security programs account for 84 percent of the increases in debt racked up by Congress and the President over this period."

Disintegration of our liberties?

What do you call the "Patriot Act"?

Too funny Ken. Keep it up, you make me laugh everyday.

Great post, Ken.

One of my own observations on comments by liberals (see above) is that rather than categorically deny that their political icons embrace agendas that will

1. Raise taxes
2. Socialize America
3. Not be tough on terroism
,

they tend instead to meander just a tad off topic and bash Republicans for items that, while enjoying some small degree of accuracy, neglect to address the actual topic behind the thread in question.

As a general example of my point,

Topic at hand: The Democrat wants socialism.

Liberal response: Bush increased the national debt.

Where is any qualified denial from the left that won't infer that their own candidates, in preaching their respective agendas in their own words, are liars?

Honestly! Anyone can say that GWB increased the national debt - of course he did! It was either that or allow the terrorists free reign with American lives both here and abroad! Be real! Sometimes you have to go into debt to protect and provide. - basic necessities such as a roof over your head, food in your belly and a vehicle to get to and from work - cause us as individuals to go into debt.

And another thing, we are supposed to be ruled by the majority - not knee jerk reactions to the "squeaky wheel" that emphasizes serious but uncommon incidents in order to get media support. Evidence: gun control. Like driving a car, accidents happen. Unlike driving a car, you can have one without being trained in basic handling and safety.

Common sense people! Or are we a bunch of sheep that would prefer to be herded rather than making our own decisions. We are not stupid! Just lazy.

The silent majority should become the vocal majority and drown out the minority "squeaky wheel". Gossip, bad news, blood, sex, death - they all sell newspapers and get people's attention. Day to day lives just isn't interesting enough to put on the front page or CNN unless there is a catastrophe.

I grew up conservative, but after a tour in Iraq with the Marines, I found myself shifting to the liberal perspective. I recognize that taxes are a pain in the ass, but I see it as a choice between two things: we can have minimal taxes and all get bigger cars and have bigger TVs, or we can have higher taxes and have better schools and roads. Needless to say, the two must be balanced, and the government must use the money wisely.

I feel that there is a overarching belief among certain people that those who disagree with us are somehow "out to get us". Liberals think this of conservatives, and conservatives think this of liberals. It ends up being a waste of all of our time.

I am a liberal, but I respect and understand and value the principal that the individual is where much of our country's strength comes from. I understand that, if a government entity isn't well-managed, our tax money will be wasted. However, I also believe that we are collectively responsible for the statistics of our nation: unemployment, education level, % of veterans who end up as addicts or worse, etc. These issues are why we have government, and if our government fails to address these issues, it is our own fault. We are the government.

On the global scale, I believe it is also statistical. There are certain conditions which lead to violence and insurgency: poverty, famine, corruption, and the lack of a separation between church and state. It is unarguable that helping to improve the conditions of the poorest nations will have the effect of decreasing anti-American sentiment. Our own military uses this tactic in Iraq and Afghanistan, calling the local society "human terrain". The basic principle can be summarized by something my Platoon Commander said in Numaniyah, Iraq: "We can win this war easier by feeding these people than by fighting them." So we did, and when we left the area, the streets were lined with cheering Iraqis. No one fired a shot.

Thank you for writing your essay, you are a true patriot. It is the combination of all of our ideas which will yield the best results-

Wow--you kool-aid drinkers crack me up. Bush/Republicans good. Fight terror. Lower taxes.

Democrats/Liberals bad. Surrender to terrorists. Raise taxes. Socialists.

It is all so very simple to you, isn't it? Like it or not, there are lots of gray areas which require thoughtful contemplation. Try to prove yourself wrong once in a while. It's not that hard.

Attributing people's thoughts and comments to "Kool AId drinking" is kind of small-minded, bud. Not to mention uncivil, irrational, unfounded and histrionic.

You have, I believe, seriously mischaracterized Mr Obama with your terrorized arm-waving, generalizations, and inflamed rhetoric.

This, of course, makes you feel better; but it does not contribute to a rational dialogue, clarify the issues, or provide any grounds for a reasonable exchange of views. If a reasonable exchange of views is not what you want, and you are simply looking for a soap-box to bellow your dramatizations from, you might do us a favor and mark your rants accordingly.

you have obviously not looked into the actual facts and spoke out of personal opinion seeing as how many facts in this are false as well as the fact that you have generalized all liberals as evil while in reality there have been many political figures in our nations history that are considered evil, democrat and republican.

Frankly I don't know whats so wrong about helping people, I believe that the american people are a good and honest people and would be willing to give up of themselves for the welfare of humanity, because in the end we are all one humanity. Also the UN can be changed and has been with the recent success of MONUC, the UN is a democracy of all nations the forum of all opinions and tell me what is more American what is more fair then that? a democracy of all people even if it has it problems the true genius of a democracy is that it can be changed. So I support any measure that helps to grow my faith in humanity, and any measure that shows the true full compassion and good will of the American people, I support Barack Hussein Obama
