JUSTICE DEPARTMENT INVESTIGATES SURVEILLANCE LEAK

This being my final post of 2005, I think it appropriate that it covers the most damning evidence that the left and their accomplices in the media care only for power and nothing for this country or the people. I was glad to hear that the Justice Department is investigating the source of the leak to the New York Times which revealed the wire tap surveillance program of Al Qaeda operatives in The United States. Though the press and the left have made hundreds of damaging statements and made numerous false accusations toward the President and our troops throughout 2005, this leak of a vital program legally used by The Commander in Chief as a means to protect this nation is far beyond damaging our national interests but a direct threat to national security as it hinders the President's ability to use any and all means necessary to fulfill his primary responsibility; protecting this nation. Those involved in this leak whether in the press or any government entity including the White House staff or members of Congress are guilty of treason and when their identities are revealed through this investigation, the Attorney General should charge them as such and full punishment applied accordingly. This does not fall under the first amendment right of freedom of the press. When the Founding Fathers established this as a freedom their intent was that the press use common sense and NOT use their position to threaten the security of the country as this leak to the Times has done. During a time of war the press is expected to use discretion and realize that national security interests should be placed above ,"getting the story." Had the press not used discretion during WWII and revealed the numerous ways that intelligence was gathered in order to defeat Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan, one has to wonder if the final outcome of the war would have been the same. The left will continue to pursue this as an illegal activity when Congress goes back into session after the Christmas and New Years break. They and their media friends will continue to milk this for political gain and never concern themselves with the consequences nor the damage that this blatant act of treason is doing to our country and the aid that their political grand standing is giving to our enemies.

PANDORA'S BOX OPENED THANKS TO NY TIMES AND DEMOCRATS

I was anticipating this to happen and it has. Following the leak by the New York Times concerning the wire taps that the President authorized for suspected Al Qaeda operatives in the US and the political game played by the left in the aftermath, the defense attorneys for several terrorist suspects already in custody are asking a federal judge to determine if evidence against their clients was gathered by electronic surveillance. One of the suspects has already confessed to a plot to blow up the Brooklyn Bridge yet his defense attorney is taking the same stance concerning the wire tap debacle that the left has whined about. There are several statutes in the law ranging from the 1978 Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to several provisions in the Patriot Act that give the President the authority to monitor anyone suspected of threatening our national security. His primary job as President is to protect this nation and we have an enemy that will stop at nothing to kill every man, woman and child in this nation, including those that through their political rhetoric are defending the very terrorists that wish to kill us! Every President since Washington has used inherent Executive Powers to gather intelligence to protect the nation yet according to the NY Times and the libs in Congress President Bush has performed and illegal act. Now we are beginning to see the results of their blatant irresponsible accusations knowing that every word they are stating is a lie for they have access to the very statutes that give Bush the authority not to mention the fact that when the surveillance program was instigated by the Bush administration following 9/11, Congress was informed of the program and fully backed it. Now to destroy the President they once again act as if they are ignorant to the truth. If they think that the enemy is not listening to their rhetoric then they are blind and frankly I believe that they are doing this with their eyes wide open and do not care about the consequences. This disgusting political game is as much a threat to national security as the terrorists that their rhetoric is protecting. They have tied the hands of the President by revealing legal intelligence gathering techniques and hampered the ability to prevent future attacks. Yet if those attacks happen these same liberal politicians will be the first to blame the President for the attacks. This type of political game is the very reason why the Democrats MUST NEVER gain control of Congress or The White House. I shudder to think of the devastating consequences that liberals in charge will bring to our nation! Though their politics will keep them from gaining control because we the people see through their rhetoric, the damage they have and continue to cause is immeasurable!

CENTRIST DEMS CONDEMN LIB BUSH ATTACKS - ARE THESE THE NEW REAGAN DEMOCRATS?

Moderate Democrats are strongly criticizing their party for the attacks against the President over the wire taps for suspected Al Qaeda operatives in The United States. Stating that the attacks will further weaken their already weak party, centrist Democrats also realize that their parties stance loses credibility with the American people over national security issues. The recent move by Senate Democrats to block the Patriot Act also concerned moderates in the Democratic Party because the general feeling is that the party has taken the civil liberties debate too far when national security is at risk. "I get nervous when I see the Democrats playing this [civil liberties] issue out too far. They had better be careful about the politics of it," said Michael O'Hanlon a Democrat advisor from the Brookings Institute, who says the Patriot Act is "good legislation." Could this be the beginning of today's version of a Reagan Democrat? When President Reagan ran for office in 1980 and again in 1984 the Republican Party was not as strong in registered voters as it is now. In both elections Reagan won because of a significant number of what were deemed as, "Reagan Democrats." Moderate Democrats who were fed up with the direction that their party was moving in the late 70's and throughout the 80's. The significant number of Reagan Democrats gave the former President two landslide victories and helped President Reagan give birth and nurture the conservative movement that has been prominent in the Republican Party ever since. The move to the far left of the Democrat Party is creating today's version of the Reagan Democrat. It is not often that party members criticize their leaders especially when a Republican is in office. There is a growing disconnect between the party leadership and the elected officials both in the House and the Senate. Most of the disconnect is over the War on Terror and national security interests. These moderates in the Democrat Party understand that the nation is at risk from terrorism and that in this post 9/11 world we have to take the battle to the terrorists or they will once again bring it to our soil. They also understand that the President is legally using Executive powers to insure that all means available are used to hunt down and eliminate terrorists both at home and abroad. The political games that liberals, who are the leadership and core of the Democrat Party, is leaving a bad taste in the mouths of the centrist/moderates and this could very well be reflected at the poles in the 2006 mid terms. The liberal leadership is so disconnected with much of their own party and with the American people as a whole that in their arrogance they are actually turning their own supporters away thus once again insuring that their minority status will continue and the modern Democrat Party could very well become an insignificant movement in future politics.

THE HILDABEAST AND CHUCKY SPEND DEFENSE MONEY THE PENTAGON DOESN'T WANT

In a blatant attempt to reward their campaign contributors the Hildabeast and her junior partner in New York, Chucky Schumer are asking the Pentagon for 123 MILLION dollars in defense spending in New York for projects that the Defense Department DID NOT ASK FOR ! Below are a few examples:

$5 million to STIDD Systems of Greenport, whose president gave $2,500 to the Friends of Hillary political action committee in May. The company makes seating for military vessels.

$8 million to the defense contracting firm DRS Technologies and its electronic warfare and network systems program in western New York. The firm's political action committee gave $8,000 to Friends of Schumer and $30,000 to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, which Schumer chairs. The company also gave Clinton's political action committee $2,000

$2 million to the Buffalo firm Nano-Dynamics, Incorporated, whose chairman gave $4,400 to the Friends of Hillary political action committee over the past year. Three of the firms officers gave $2,000 each to Schumer's campaign.

$2 million to Plug Power, Incorporated, a developer of fuel cell technology. The company's president Roger Saillant has given $2,000 to the Friends of Hillary committee over the past two years, and $3,000 to the Friends of Schumer committee over the past four years.

Most experts agree that the spending requests are frivolous and unwanted by the Pentagon but that won't stop the Hildabeast and Chucky. It's a shame that in a time of war defense bills cannot find passage without pork attached. OINK, OINK to the Hildabeast and Chucky! The Hildabeast watch continues.

SCHUMER SETS HIGH STAKES FOR 2006

Thinking that the recent political games that the Democrats have played to hinder the President and the war and frankly threaten the safety of the nation have given the left an advantage going into the 2006 election year and the mid-terms, New York's junior Senator, Chuck Schumer is preparing the party for a take over of the majority in the House and Senate. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid states that Schumer has been their key strategist throughout 2005 and will retain the role in 06. Hmm, I've been wondering who was the lunatic that developed the liberal strategy for defeatism, aiding the enemy and political destruction of a President during a time of war ? Now we know. If Schumers strategy has been so successful then Why has it not shown in the poles. The most recent poles have shown gains for the President and the Congress is continually falling. Even though the Republicans hold the majority, I believe that most of the reason that the Congress is falling in popularity as the President gains is because the liberal press runs to the Democratic leadership whenever they seek an interview and their agenda is all that the press reports. Most Americans are not politically savvy therefore it occurs to me that the belief throughout most of the country is that the left is in charge and their destructive agenda and continual bashing of the President and the troops has given the country a very low opinion of the Congress, which of course is beneficial to Republicans in the 2006 mid-terms. Schumer may believe that the left has the upper hand and if one keeps their nose only inside the beltway as most of Congress in BOTH parties do then it may seem so. But the pulse of the nation is conservative and this too benefits Republicans in 2006. The Republican majority has, thank God, begun listening to the voice of the people and the 2006 agenda for the President and the majority is reflecting that. So the left will continue with their fabricated attacks and continue to live in the fantasy that they speak for the American people and once again find themselves continuing in the minority and losing yet another election. Keep up the good work Senator Schumer!

THE LIGHTER SIDE OF CHRISTMAS

With news being on the light side this day after Christmas, I thought you would enjoy a few news items that I found at the Fox News website concerning some of the more hillarious things that took place on and around Christmas!

Ken Taylor

WILL 2006 BRING A TROOP REDUCTION IN IRAQ ?

Stating that there is no rush for a troop reduction, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, during a Christmas visit with the troops, repeatedly stressed the positive aspects taking places in Iraq and that more and more of the responsibility is being passed to the Iraqi government and Iraqi Security Forces. There have been several indications that a troop reduction is coming as early as January from several sources including General Casey the commanding General of all operations. There have also been several reports concerning the cancellation of planned troop rotations into the Iraqi theater. While this is great news and the truth of the tremendous accomplishments in Iraq are FINALLY making headlines even in the mainstream press, one has to wonder if the Democrats are seeing this in the positive light that it truly is. After all if the troops begin coming home because of a successful completion of their mission, what do the libs have to gripe about. Remember THEY have been calling Iraq a FAILURE and THEY have been demanding an IMMEDIATE pull out. They are also the political animals who have suggested that our troops are terrorists and that the military has virtually fallen apart in Iraq. Remember Congressman Murtha's , "hand to mouth, " comment ? One again good news for America is bad news for the Democrats.

CHRISTMAS IS.....THE SUNDAY COMMENTARY

There are many things from which I might have derived good, by which I have not profited, I dare say, Christmas among the rest. But I am sure I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round as a good time: a kind, forgiving, charitable, pleasant time: the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow-passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys. And therefore, uncle, though it has never put a scrap of gold or silver in my pocket, I believe that it has done me good, and will do me good; and I say, God bless it!''

So said Fred, the nephew of Ebeneezer Scrooge in Charles Dickens," A Christmas Carol." Christmas is many things to many people. For some it is Santa Claus and toy building elves. For others it is a time to spend time with family and friends and for some a time to share, "Christmas spirits." But amidst all of the festivities the one fact that must not be forgotten and cannot be denied is that Christmas regardless of ones spiritual beliefs or lack there of is a celebration of a precious birth. A birth, that though it did not take place in December of our calendar year, still effects all of mankind to this very day. A birth that changed history and in whose life all history finds its center.

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6

So many years ago in Bethlehem this child who was born, a gift to all mankind in a lowly manger, would grow to become the sacrifice that a just God required for the transgressions of man and in whose name forgiveness can be found. And His name shall be called Jesus. We in the United States have a particular reason to celebrate the birth of the Son of God for it is because of His birth, His death and His resurrection that this nation was born. The Pilgrims who landed at Plymouth in 1620 came to this land to find freedom to worship God as their hearts guided them and thus our Founding Fathers in their wisdom placed the freedom to worship according to ones heart and conscience as our first and foremost right in this nation that we love. From the very birth of our nation Christmas has been a celebration of the birth of the King of Kings and though the politically correct have been trying to eliminate Him from our present day Christmas the fact still remains the He is the Reason for the Season. Without His birth there would be no Christmas nor the need for the celebration. Though we are a melting pot of many religions and many nationalities the underlying truth still remains that the birth of The Christ is why Christmas exists. Yet in our freedoms this does not force anyone to celebrate His birth as Christians do for many in their religious or non-religious beliefs do not recognize Him yet we all live in the freedom and liberty that His birth allowed and in-turn gave life to our nation in the search for religious freedom. So as you join with your families and friends this Christmas and believe in the Son of God then give thanks to Him for His coming and all that we are, who we are as a nation and His many blessings bestowed. If your beliefs are of another nature then take a moment to reflect on this great land that we live in and give thanks in your own way for this land of the free and home of the brave. May the blessings of Christmas be yours now and throughout the New Year. Thank you each one for being a part of this blog. Merry Christmas to each of you and as Tiny Tim observed, " God bless us, everyone!"

TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS WHITE HOUSE STYLE

Here is a little political twist I composed based on the poem, "The Night Before Christmas." I hope you enjoy and Merry Christmas!

Twas the night before Christmas when in the White House , George Bush was snacking as quiet as a mouse.
While over in the Senate the libs scratched their heads, "What can we do to shake George from his bed?!?!?"
The Dems were all huddled in their left wing traits, with visions of Hillary for Prez in 2000 and 8.
Harry Reid in his 'kerchief with a frown on his face, keeps telling John Kerry, "I still think you won the race!"
When out on the White House lawn there rose such a clatter, George wolfed down his sandwich and Laura said, "Hey what's the matter?"
Bang, Pow, Boom, screech, Crunch, an old bus did appear and George said , "Secret Service, stand down I know why they're here."
The door opened wide and what did appear, but libs from the Congress, Oh and Teddy with a beer !
As he looked out more came, there was Pelosi and Reid and Murtha and Schumer to perform their dastardly deed !
The President stepped forward with a look of disdain as the libs said together, "We've come here to complain.
We gripe and we twist all your policies each day but on this Christmas night we've got much more to say.
You've lied to the people though we saw the same proof but to win in 06 we must lie through the roof."
Bush looked to the sky then he lowered his head for he knew in their whining he had nothing to dread.
He looked up and he smiled as he called each lib by name then he laughed and he laughed til they thought him insane.
"Mr. President," Pelosi said with a choke, "we've come here to gripe, do you think us a joke ?
We've come here to demand that the troops pull out, though we know it's a success we'll lie to take YOU out !"
With a twinkle in his eye and and a proud tear on his cheek, Bush said, " I've listened to your lies week after week.
Our troops are the best and have a mission to win and nothing you say will force me to pull them in.
As for me the people have spoken and they decide our fate whether this year or next or in two thousand and eight."
The libs bowed their heads for they knew he was right and all that they said would just lose them this fight.
The people are tired of this liberal bash and this Christmas and next will we see through the trash !
As they boarded their bus in utter defeat knowing that George Bush would never sound retreat,
they heard him proclaim loud into the night, Merry Christmas to all, the US got this one RIGHT !"

Merry Christmas !

BARBARA BOXER - DELAY ALITO AND GO AFTER BUSH

This has become a ridiculous abuse of the Senate when despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary that Democrats such as Californians Barbara Boxer are demanding hearings into the President's admission that the NSA was wire tapping suspected Al Qaeda operatives after September 11. The surveillance was a result of the capture of Al Qaeda's number three man and the finding of more than 300 phone numbers that he personally contacted within the United States both prior to 9/11 and after. This constitutes a national security threat and as such gives the President authority to pursue the operatives to protect the nation. All of the wire taps were legal under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 and certain provisions in the Patriot Act. Yet despite this and several references of the Clinton administration and several other Presidents including Carter and Reagan using FISA for electronic surveillance, Boxer is demanding impeachment investigations against the President. This political grand standing by the Democrats who KNOW that Bush's actions were legal and for the protection of the nation is a blatant attempt to destroy this Presidency at the expense of the people's business and national security. This out right attack has hindered our ability to gather information without the knowledge of the enemy since the left is so willing to openly detail such programs in their all to willing accomplices in the left wing press, namely the New York Times who has ignored everything about this story except what the President has done. This amounts to censorship of the truth and aid and comfort to the enemy, which is only what the left has succeeded in accomplishing throughout this war.

22 CONGRESSMEN VOTE AGAINST CHRISTMAS

The House has passed a resolution supporting Christmas and the symbols that typically represent the birth of Christ and secular symbols such as Christmas trees. The resolution was a recognition by the House combating the political correctness that has gone to war against Christmas. The resolution reads:

Whereas Christmas is a national holiday celebrated on December 25; and
Whereas the Framers intended that the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States would prohibit the establishment of religion, not prohibit any mention of religion or reference to God in civic dialog: Now, therefore be it resolved, that the House of Representatives:
(1) Recognizes the importance of the symbols and traditions of Christmas; (2) Strongly disapproves of attempts to ban references to Christmas; and (3) Expresses support for the use of these symbols and traditions, for those who celebrate Christmas.

Now the kicker to the passing of this resolution was the actual vote count - 401 - 22 ! 22 House Democrats voted AGAINST recognizing Christmas and the symbols and the Christian meaning of the holiday. Below is the list of those opposed to Christmas:

Ackerman D-NY ,Blumenauer D-OR ,Capps D-CA ,Cleaver D-MO, DeGette D-CO, Harman D-CA ,Hastings D-FL, Honda D-CA ,Lee D-CA ,Lewis D-GA ,McDermott D-WA ,Miller, George D-CA ,Moore D-WI , Moran D-VA ,Payne D-NJ, Rush D-IL ,Schakowsky D-IL ,Scott D-VA ,Stark D-CA , Wasserman Schultz D-FL, Wexler D-FL, Woolsey D-CA .

These 22 will definitely get coal in their stockings on Christmas Eve and despite their NO VOTE we at the Liberal Lie still wish THEM a Merry Christmas.

MEXICAN PRESIDENT CLAIMS BORDER WALL A HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATION

Where does this guy get off trying to control our borders by claiming that if we build a wall to prevent illegals from entering this country that WE are violating human rights. It occurs to me that if human living standards in HIS country were better, then his people would stay home rather than illegally enter The United States. So just WHO is violating their human rights, Vincente Fox? Additionally he is hiring a public relations firm to make his case for allowing the illegal immigration to continue unimpeded and that the proposed wall along the border compares to the Berlin Wall erected in Germany during the Cold War. First, Mr. Fox you have NO business demanding anything that concerns United States domestic policy which the border issue is. Second, the Berlin Wall was erected to prevent oppressed people from leaving their oppression and not preventing them from entering a country illegally as the southern border wall would be. Illegal immigration into The United States is Mexico's number one export and provides 10's of billions of dollars to the Mexican economy annually. This still does not give a foreign President the right to dictate to us how we handle issues along our border. While we fight through our border patrols to prevent illegals from entering HIS military actually assists the entrance by diverting patrol officers and additionally the Mexican military has a vested interest and assists the drug trade that pours over the southern border. This President claims to be a friend to The United States but in actuality is a great an enemy as any we have faced. His policies encourage illegals and now with the PR campaign and the claim of human rights violation is attempting to involve the world in our domestic situation. Build the fence President Bush. Congress, close the borders with strong enforcement, prosecutions and deportation and stop Vincente Fox in his tracks.

PIRRO BOWS OUT OF HILDABEAST NY RACE

After considerable pressure from the state Republican Party, Jeanine Pirro bowed out of the Senate race to run for state Attorney General. Pirro's campaign has been in trouble for several weeks and now with her departure there are two Republican's seeking the party nomination. So it would seem that the Hildabeast has temporarily claimed a victory in the New York Senate race. The state Republican Party seems to be more afraid of her rather than mounting a decisive campaign to beat her in 2006. She is beatable but just as in 2002 the New York Republicans are allowing her to control the campaign rather than fight her and try to win. When Rudi pulled out because of cancer in 2002 there was never a strong push with the candidate that stepped in and the same weakness is evident for 2006. So at least at this point the Hildabeast has the upper hand and the state Republicans are licking their wounds and cowing to the Beast! The Hildabeast Watch continues.

PRESIDENTIAL WIRE TAPS ARE LEGAL FOR NATIONAL SECURITY

"1) Notwithstanding any other law, the President, through the Attorney General, may authorize electronic surveillance without a court order under this subchapter to acquire foreign intelligence information for periods of up to one year if the Attorney General certifies in writing under oath." This is a direct quote from the 1978 Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act subchapter 1 section 1802. I am not a legal scholar and do not nor ever will claim to be, but with a little Google search I found the provision that allows the President of the United States to authorize legal wire taps for foreign surveillance against anyone suspected of harming the national security of the nation. I don't know about you but I believe that anyone associated with Al Qaeda falls into this category which is exactly what the President stated in yesterdays news conference. Yet the New York Times and the liberal meatheads in the Senate and House namely Harry Reid, Dianne Fienstien, Barbara Boxer and Nancy Pelosi, with better access to US provisions than I can EVER have, claim that the President admitted to an impeachable offense in his wire tap statement and are now pushing for an investigation and articles of impeachment against Bush. When will these ridiculous imbeciles realize that these blatant attacks on the President to destroy his Presidency threaten our national security and aid and comfort the enemy. A blind man can see through their partisan attacks and the true reason for them yet they persist. One can only determine that they do not care for this nation, its security, winning the war or for the very people that they claim to represent. Just last week the House voted on a bill that stated that the House of Representatives would unite together and stand FOR victory in Iraq. 108 DEMOCRATS VOTED AGAINST THE BILL, thus indicating that they favored defeat rather than victory. This bill had no other provisions or wording other than backing victory ! The recent large gains in the President's approval rating proves that the American people are not falling for this disgusting liberal attack and campaign of deception. If the left thinks that this type of , "politics, " will gain the House and Senate in 2006 they are sadly mistaken. My conservative values and Republicanism says, "keep it up libs," but my patriotism and love for this country fears the repercussions from an enemy that thrives on this type of rhetoric and the damage that it is and will continue to cause our troops and our country!

NEW YORK TIMES - A PARTNER WITH AL JEZEERA ?

The left has been blasting the President since the New York Times leaked the information concerning NSA wire tapping known Al Qaeda connections and that the President knew and approved the surveillance. It seems that the Times in order to find anything that they feel will help the left to bring down the President believes even US security makes no difference. This surveillance used by the Bush administration to gather information from contacts within the US that were calling Afghanistan and known Al Qaeda members was very successful in thwarting further terrorist actions in the US and overseas. That is until the Times felt it their, "duty, " to break a story that they have had for over a year. Could it be a coincidence that it follows the very successful Iraqi elections and that the Times is publishing a book soon to be released on this same subject. The President stated in a news conference today that the story greatly harmed intelligence gathering and that ALL the wire taps were legal and the Congress WAS informed of the program at its conception. This despite claims to the contrary by Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. Both claimed that the President over stepped his authority by authorizing the taps, yet personal surveillance has been authorized in the past by Chief Executives both during war, (which we are in and gives the President emergency powers to protect the nation), and times when we were not at war. Clinton used satellite surveillance on known militia groups after the Oklahoma City bombing. Robert Kennedy at the request of JFK wire tapped Martin Luther King because of an alleged communist connection in order to keep J. Edgar Hoover quiet. FDR detained Japanese in WWII , and Lincoln ordered a sitting US congressman and candidate for Governor of Ohio arrested and deported to the South for encouraging soldiers to leave their posts as an anti - war protest. All of these Presidential orders were authorized without court intervention and all for the protection of the nation in a time of crises or war! Yet the left gives the assertion that Bush over stepped his Presidential authority and condoned illegal activities. Activities necessary IN A TIME OF WAR! The President can and must be able to move quickly during war to protect this nation as Commander in Chief within legal bounds as Bush has done, yet the left would tie his hands in another effort to destroy this Presidency and grab power in Washington. All at the expense of national security and the people. The New York Times is the prominent mouth piece in the media that is used by the left for this message of mass destruction. Al Jezeera and Al Qaeda are proud!

FILIBUSTER ON PATRIOT ACT DANGEROUS TO AMERICA

I have been out for a few days and two events that will have great consequences for The United States have taken place. First, the history making success of the parliamentary elections in Iraq. Two years and nine months from the time that the regime of Saddam Hussein was ended by coalition forces the Iraqis have instituted first, an interim government, written and ratified a Constitution and then in a tremendous 70% turn out freely elected a permanent government. Thanks to the marvelous job that our military has performed the day went without much incident and the Iraqis have accomplished in 33 months what it took 57 of the most brilliant men ever to walk the earth nine years to accomplish at the birth of our nation. This is a tremendous victory for the Iraqis, our brave men and women in uniform and the President. It is his steadfast leadership despite unprecedented opposition and false accusations that has allowed the United States and her allies to stay the course and bring freedom and liberty to Iraq. The second event that will have great and this time terrible ramifications on our nation was the failure of the Senate to approve the continuation of the Patriot Act. There are many, especially on the left that claim that the Act takes away our civil liberties, and if you look at it only in that light there is merit to this argument. But protecting this nation from another 9/11 makes it necessary to by law possibly sacrifice certain civil liberties. This argument though has not taken into account several things. Since the inception of the Patriot Act there has NOT been a single case where authorities have abused the previsions that the left claim take away civil liberties. There has actually been a strong concerted effort to investigate only those who have shown they pose a possible threat to the nation. That said if wire tapping any phone or intercepting any e-mail prevents another terror attack in this country then ANY sacrifice is appropriate. The Patriot Act also eliminated the , "wall," that was created under the Clinton administration that prevented the FBI, CIA and the military from sharing gathered intelligence which has been proven to be one the most blatant failures in detecting the 9/11 attacks BEFORE they happened. Since the Patriot Act eliminated this wall, there have been six attacks of a magnitude of 9/11 prevented. Three in the US and three overseas. Yet despite the overwhelming evidence of the success of the Patriot Act the left and a few wimpy Republicans have chosen to filibuster the Act and as such come January 1, 2006, 15 DAYS FROM TODAY, we will be returned to pre-9/11 capabilities for both the intelligence and the law enforcement sectors who help protect this nation. If the political animals who have caused this catastrophic political grand stand think that the enemy does not realize what they have done then they are greatly mistaken. The distinct possibility of another attack taking place is a real and terrible threat while these Senators are playing their political games at the expense of the safety of this nation.

ARE DEMOCRATS ACTUALLY WANTING DEFEAT IN IRAQ ?

The answer to this question is an emphatic YES ! Every time the President speaks to the nation whether through a press conference or a speech to a particular group stating the facts about Iraq, both the good and the bad, the Democrats trip over one another to see who can be the first before the cameras with a frown on their face and claim that the American people are ready to leave Iraq now and that the President is deceiving himself and the nation to think that Iraq is a success and we the people still want the mission completed. I think the best way to determine whether ANY policy whether foreign or domestic is a good one is to use the left as the ear mark of that determination. For instance, if the left is complaining loudly and claiming that anything is a lie or a scandal, then whatever it is, is GOOD for the country. If on the other hand they are in favor of it and touting how good it is then obviously it must be BAD for the country. The left is so out of touch with the American public and truly believe that they are looking out for our best interest whether we want it or not! The disillusionment within the Democratic Party would be laughable were it not for the fact that their destructive agenda is also destructive to the nation and the self serving rhetoric demoralizes our troops and undermines their mission. Whenever ANY success in Iraq is revealed the left says that it is a lie despite OVERWHELMING evidence to the contrary. Of course as we learned from the Clinton years evidence never matters to the left it is only the false spin that counts. Regardless of their false rhetoric, our troops are performing a tremendous job and Iraq IS liberated and will have a duly elected constitutionally based democracy with all factions represented. The road is still rough but the light at the end of the tunnel is visible and the left can't stand it!

IRAQI VOTE COULD DRIVE LIBERALS NUTS

Today in many places around the world including the United States, Iraqi citizens who are living outside of Iraq cast their votes in the parliamentary elections that are scheduled for this Thursday. The expected increase in terror and insurgent attacks that has been expected and prepared for by our military and the Iraqi Defense Force has not as yet appeared to be wide spread and the feeling in country is that the terrorists and insurgents will keep a low profile during the vote and possibly increase attacks after election day. Because of the feeling of security that is in Iraq concerning this vote, Sunni's, who boycotted the last election are registering in large numbers and are expected to have a comparably large turn out. The Iraqi Prime Minister has stated that Iraq is close to governing and protecting herself without US assistance. As such in an interview with Colonel Oliver North that aired today on the Sean Hannity radio program, Colonel North stated that in a conversation that he had with General Casey, the commanding officer for all coalition forces in Iraq, possibly 30, 000 US troops could be returning home as early as January. A successful election establishing a democrasized government elected by the people of Iraq and the beginning of the reduction of US forces signaling a victorious out come in the Iraq theatre in the War on Terror, will drive the Democrats crazy. A successful election and troop reduction CANNOT be denied, hidden or lied about by the media wing of the Democratic Party nor the usual suspects in the House and Senate, (Pelosi, Kennedy, Murtha, Reed and any other liberal). Additionally both events prove the President's Iraq policy correct and the left wrong in their deceptive campaign to undermine the war, the President and our troops. Oh I'm sure that the left and the mainstream media will try to spin it as failure but even a two year old will be able to see through the liberal lie and realize that the war effort has been a success and a free and liberated Iraq with the only Arab democracy in the region is the result. The truth in Iraq despite the left's attempt to politically destroy the war effort is beginning to filter out in other ways besides bloggers and the other aspects of the new media. When the election is over and the successful transition to a freely elected democracy makes world headlines, the left once again will be revealed for the deceivers that they are and then will spin another false hood to base their 2006 power bid on. Thank God that we the people no longer fall for the lies that the left spins to deceive their way into public office.

HILDABEAST OPPONENT JEANINE PIRRO ENCOURAGED TO QUIT

This technically does not actually fall under the regular articles that are posted for , "The Hildabeast Watch, " but it is related enough that I will call it that just the same. For those of you who have been following the Senate race in New York, former District Attorney Jeanine Pirro has challenged the Hildabeast for the 2006 Senate vote. Initially her campaign was showing signs of strength and closing in the polls on Hillary but in recent weeks due in part to the Hildabeast attack machine attempting to scandalize Pirro's run for the Senate by drumming up a supposed, "mob, " connection and losing a page of a speech she was giving then standing at the podium silent for 32 seconds, the former District Attorney has struggled and the Republican Party in New York is encouraging her to run for state Attorney General rather than US Senate. The consensus by Republican county chairs is that she should NOT continue to run against the Hildabeast. Pirro issued a terse response. "I remain a candidate for U.S. Senate, but I greatly respect the opinion of the county chairs and their confidence in my abilities as a statewide candidate." The Hildabeast has been traveling throughout the country raising money for her war chest and has greatly out raised the struggling Pirro campaign. It occurs to me that if the Hildabeast were JUST running for the Senate in New York, why then would she have to raise funds in other parts of the country unless she had another campaign in mind? Two other state Republicans are ready to throw their hat in the ring against the Hildabeast but Pirro seems determined to stay in the race at this time. Time will tell though polls still show that the snow job that the Hildabeast has achieved over the people of New York is working for she is ahead in every poll and most believe that the Senate is all she wants. Yeah and pigs fly on every fifth Tuesday while Democrats always tell the truth and this sentence has absolutely NO sarcasm in it! The Hildabeast Watch continues.

TODAY'S DEMOCRATS AND THE McGOVERN EXAMPLE - THE SUNDAY COMMENTARY

This last week has been a particularly bad week for Democrats. Personally ANY week that one is a Democrat would be a bad week but THAT is another story ! The week began with John Kerry claiming that our troops were terrorizing Iraqi, "children and women." This was Sunday. Monday Howard Dean stated on a San Antonio radio station that the idea of the US winning in Iraq was, "simply wrong." Tuesday brought Joe Lieberman blasting his party about undermining the war and the President during a time of war. Throughout Nancy Pelosi attempted to get a resolution condemning Republicans for a, "culture of corruption, " while joining John Murtha ranting about an immediate pull out from Iraq beginning after the elections being held on December 15. Not only did ALL the partisan politics fail, but it back fired with a backlash from we the people whom they were attempting to influence with this destructive agenda. The President continued on the offensive and his poll numbers showed a dramatic increase this week as well as touting a very robust economy all of which just added to the misery of the Democrats. Oh I almost forgot, Iraqi citizens handed over Al Qaeda's number three man to US troops while Democrats claimed that the people of Iraq did not want us there. I guess helping troops apprehend a terrorist shows they want us to leave! All in all a very BAD week for the left! Ever since the election of 2000 Democrats have been attempting with lie upon lie and false or greatly exaggerated, "scandals, " to destroy the Presidency of George W. Bush. Their hatred of the President has driven their agenda and the American people fortunately are far more politically educated than in the past and had not bought into this agenda of political destruction. Then the polls began to show an apparent Bush vulnerability.....Iraq. Using a constant barrage of leftist media negativity slapping the nation in the face EVERYDAY with body counts and terrorist insurgency attacks, supposed pre-war intelligence lies, NEVER telling the complete truth if at all the left thought they had a foothold on the end of the Bush Presidency and especially an in road to a massive victory in the 2006 elections. So they decided to increase the rhetoric while the President kept quiet. Then something happened that they never took into account. The President began fighting back, the majority in the House and Senate began finally adhering to the conservative agenda that put them in power in the first place, the polls, (which drive Democratic policy), began shifting and the left started having a bad day. Yet despite this shift and the intelligence of the American people in seeing through the left's blatant party politics, most Democrats do not understand that their agenda of destruction is not and will not work with the voters. Yet they stay on this same course continually shifting the attacks or revamping them to give the attacks a little different spin all the time thinking that they are endearing themselves to the voters and in 2006 they will reap the benefits.

Another Democrat attempted a similar strategy in 1972. George McGovern a South Dakota liberal was the Democratic nominee to run against Republican incumbent Richard Nixon. The prominent story in 1972 was the Vietnam war and the country, thanks to a constant media barrage with body counts and twisted reports about US, "atrocities, " in the field were turning against the war and massive anti-war protests topped the headlines. McGovern with his running mate Thomas Eagleton, (who had problems of his own and was eventually replaced with Kennedy man Sargent Shriver), jumped on the anti-war bandwagon and called for an immediate troop withdraw and instituting a minimum income for the poor. McGovern stated that his first act as President if elected would be to bring all the troops home. His campaign slogan was, "Help me bring them home now and safe." McGovern misunderstood the voters and lost in a land slide winning only the state of Massachusetts and the District of Columbia.

Today the left is also misunderstanding the voters. This war is not unpopular as Vietnam was. Yes the populace as in any war are growing tired of war which is understandable. But the people as a whole realize the ramifications to the nation if we pull out before achieving full and complete victory both in Iraq and the numerous other battle lines in this global War on Terror. We the people are not jumping ship in our support for Bush, the war and especially our troops as the left would have us do in their attempt to gain power in Washington. Their, "words, " of support for the troops are just that, words with no meaning for their actions and intent prove their disdain for the military. Their lust for power which drives their agenda sacrifices anything in its path whether it is the troops or the very freedoms and liberties that keep us coherent as a nation. Our sources for the truth are greatly more available today than in 1972 and as such voters are better educated and not buying into this leftist mainstream media barrage orchestrated by the DNC. Yet the left still believes that their agenda of destruction is succeeding and they will take over in 2006 then start the power grab for the White House. Well let them continue to deceive themselves, which they will, let them continue with their lust for power and their agenda of destruction. We the people are not buying it and will not fall into their trap of deception which will be very evident in 2006 as they once again lose another election then claim it was stolen. Remember in their elitist minds only THEY know what is best for the American people and we dumb voters just don't understand it and keep voting against them. Good for us !!

THE LIBERAL LIE, THE CONSERVATIVE TRUTH NUMBER ONE AT BLOG RANKINGS

LIEBERMAN UNDER FIRE FOR BACKING BUSH AND WAR

The Democrats prove once again that if you disagree with the party line and have a mind of your own you are not welcome ! Senator Joseph Lieberman, (D Conn.), is coming under fire from the national level and within his own state for his stance favoring the war and supporting the President's policy for Iraq. Tuesday Lieberman blasted his party for their defeatist attitude when he stated, "It is time for Democrats who distrust President Bush to acknowledge that he will be commander in chief for three more critical years, and that in matters of war we undermine presidential credibility at our nation's peril." Strong words that were right on the mark concerning the left's attack campaign against the war, the President and our troops. This brought harsh criticism from Howard Dean the DNC Chairman as he claimed that the party was unified on its stance against the war and singled out Lieberman as the exception. In Connecticut, the Governor is urging an anti-war Democrat to run against Lieberman in the 2006 elections and party officials met specifically to discuss what to do about Lieberman from the state level. The Senator has shown that the country comes before party politics and that his job in the Senate is to vote and speak his conscience not liberal dogma. The majority of the Democratic Party is only concerned about power in Washington and taking the Senate and the House in the 2006 elections. Lieberman's vocal opposition to the retreat and defeat stance that his party has taken damages their chances at convincing the American people that they should be in power and shows the parties partisan politics for what it is. His stance proves that to a liberal the good of the party is more important that the good of the nation. I hope that the people of Connecticut have the good sense to listen to Lieberman instead of the Democratic Party when November 2006 arrives and the time comes to re-elect this man of conscience. Though I do not agree with much of his domestic belief, which is to the left, Lieberman is a breath of fresh air in a party corrupt with the lust for power at the people's expense!

GOP FIGHTS BACK

The Republican National committee is fighting back against the latest blatant attacks by Howard Dean, John Kerry and other prominent Democrats over the war. Dean and Kerry especially have claimed that the war cannot be won and that are troops are terrorizing the Iraqi people. The latest GOP add campaign uses the false words expressed by Democrats too show their cut and run defeatist policy for what it is. The add takes video footage of Dean, Barbara Boxer and Kerry placing a white flag of surrender over them and ends with, "Our soldiers are watching and the enemy is too. Retreat and defeat is not an option." ( to view the add click on this post title) A great add that tells the truth and fully reveals the left for who they are and what they stand for and are attempting to do in this destructive campaign they are waging against our troops and the President in a time of war!

JOHN McCAIN - "WE'VE GOT TO STOP THE TORTURE."

Those of you who visit this site regularly know how I stand politically. For those of you who are new, I am a Reagan conservative and have been a member of the RNC since I attained voting age in 1974. I choose to be a conservative and a Republican because I believe that this party more closely agrees with my values and political philosophy and I also believe that most Democrats and especially the far left do not have a clue as to what it means to be free and to live in the most powerful country that has ever existed. The goals of the left, in my opinion, do nothing but weaken this nation and will, if allowed to be achieved, isolate us and socialize this country into one that will line up behind European socialism and make us bow to the United Nations. Their domestic ideas will tax us until every citizen is controlled and dependent upon the government while they in their elitist wisdom decide how much we make and how we should live in their socialistic scheme. Having said all of that, I am now going to criticize a member of my own party though I do not believe that he is a conservative. John McCain the, "moderate, " Senator from Arizona has once again played to his fan base in the leftist media by claiming that US soldiers are still torturing detainees and that, "we have prisons, apparently, set up in different places in the world where we're keeping people for years." The emphasis on, "apparently," is something that I added, since McCain claims to have actual knowledge of this so called torture and these supposed prisons, then why use the word , "apparently ?" Now back to his accusation. I realize that McCain is a Vietnam war hero and that he was a POW who suffered terrible torture,( for which I salute his sacrifice and service), and as such has first hand experience on the subject. My objection to his continual harping about our military supposedly torturing detainees is that even in light of the Abu Ghraib case, ( which was settled in a military court for the violations of military conduct that occurred), there has been NO proof that torture has ever taken place. The Abu Ghraib situation was more humiliation than torture and Gitmo was investigated and proven to have been handled in a correct and proper way for interrogation. Why does the Senator object so to using harsh means to interrogate prisoners to gather information to save American lives ? Secretary of State Condeleeza Rice has stated, "It is against U.S. law to be involved in torture or conspiracy to commit torture. And it is also against U.S. international obligations and the President has made it very clear that U.S. personnel will operate within U.S. law and within our international obligations." She then went on to say, "The intelligence we gathered has helped to stop terrorist attacks and saved innocent lives in Europe - as well as in the United States and other countries. " Since we have gathered information that has been valuable and it has been proven that torture was not used what is the problem with using sleep deprivation or standing in one position for hours or other types of intelligence gathering when these terrorists are interested in nothing more that killing Americans ? Any means necessary to save American lives should be on the board within legal limits to acquire the needed intelligence. We will never know the attacks that have been thwarted or the lives that have been saved from this intelligence yet McCain objects to its gathering ! If he wants to run for President, (which is obvious), then stepping on the backs of the military by making claims of torture is NOT the way to gain votes or the confidence of the American people. This is among MANY reason why he will not get the nomination for the Republican Party which is a relief for me because his politics are to left for my taste and I have not missed a vote since I was eligible to vote, but the Senator from Arizona will never get my support!

THE HILDABEAST BLASTED BY VETS FOR BACKING FLAG BURNING STATUTE

The Hildabeast has been getting a great deal of flack lately from the left wing of her party for her stance on the war and now she is getting flack from vets for actually backing an anti- flag burning statute. She is also getting flack from the left for backing the same statute. The vets see through her ploy in backing this statute rather than an amendment against flag burning as an attempt to appease the moderates thus continuing to positioning herself for the 2008 Presidential run. On this I agree whole heartedly with the vets. She has always opposed any attempt to prohibit flag burning in the past so now to hide her true liberal beliefs she backs the statute while falling short of a Constitutional amendment which would have some actual legal backbone to it. Once again an attempt at trying to play both sides. Only this time it back fired. The left is angered because she has backed down from her original stance against ANY protection from flag burning and the vets see through her moderate masquerade. The two faces of the Hildabeast show themselves as usual. The Hildabeast watch continues.

PRESIDENT BUSH CRITICIZED FOR 2005 CHRISTMAS CARD

The Catholic League today criticized President Bush for not saying Merry Christmas as a greeting in the official White House Christmas card for 2005. This criticism comes on the heals of the heat that retail outlets and other entities have received for using Happy Holidays, rather than Merry Christmas. While I totally agree with the criticism for the attack that has taken place on Christmas,( Sunday Commentary post Attack on Christmas http://theliberalslies.blogspot.com/2005/12/attack-on-christmas-sunday-commentary_04.html ), and the blatant attempt to take away all aspects of the Christian celebration that IS Christmas, I disagree with the criticism of the President's Christmas card. Why ? I have received the card this year as I have in the past and yes the greeting is not Merry Christmas but the critics neglect to inform the public of the heading of the card BEFORE the greeting. This is how the 2005 White House Christmas card reads: underneath the Presidential seal are found these words - "The Lord is my strength and my shield; in Him my heart trusts; so I am helped, and my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to Him." Psalm 28:7 (RSV) Then the greeting: "With best wishes for a holiday season of hope and happiness 2005 " Then the President and Mrs. Bush's signature.

So as you can see while Merry Christmas is not stated the One in whom we celebrate at Christmas is through the quotation from the Scriptures. There is no attempt to eliminate God from the Christmas celebration of the birth of Christ as is happening in our schools, our decorations and the retail outlets that we shop during the season. The President has NEVER dodged his Christian faith and this card expresses that faith as well a celebrating Christmas.

HOWARD DEAN COMMITS TREASON - US WON'T WIN IN IRAQ

Article 3, Section 3 of the United States Constitution, "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort." Howard Dean Chairman of the DNC, "(the) idea that we're going to win the war in Iraq is an idea which is just plain wrong." By definition this statement by Dean on radio station WOIA in San Antonio , Texas IS AN ACT OF TREASON ! Dean's mouth has consistently been an aggravation and at times almost funny in a pathetic way with lies and exaggerations about the President and the Republican Party as well as the war. Until now his ramblings have been fairly harmless and attributed to the ignorance of an extremely left wing liberal. Today's statement that we will not win in Iraq not only is an act of treason but is one of the if not the most dangerous statement made by anyone on the left concerning the war. First the statement was made by THE HEAD of the Democratic Party which is recognized throughout the world as a very prominent political position. Second, the statement is an admittance , ( a false admittance but it will not be perceived as that), to the enemy that they have won and the United States military cannot defeat them which will give the terrorist insurgents in Iraq the false impression that they have defeated the US which in turn will strengthen their resolve as well as the possibility of an escalation in attacks because of a renewed energy since Dean has claimed victory FOR THE ENEMY! THIS IS TREASON!!! Yesterday John Kerry called our men and women in uniform terrorists and today Howard Dean says that the military will not win.

To our men and women in Iraq, Howard Dean's treasonous comment does NOT speak for the people. You have our full and dedicated support. John Kerry's disgusting comment IS NOT how we see the marvelous job you are doing in Iraq and the assistance that you are providing to the Iraqi people.

This type of rhetoric not only emboldens the enemy it places the lives of American soldiers in further peril in a war situation. I ask the question again today that I asked in yesterday's post about Kerry's statement. How many precious American lives will Deans treason cost ? These stupid irresponsible statements that regurgitate from the mouths of liberals everyday MUST STOP! The lives of our heroic military are not a political basketball that the left can use at their whim and fancy to destroy the war effort and the Bush administration over their lust for power. They have no conscience or core beliefs, nor do they have the least bit of concern for this country or our military. They are a disgusting lot of political animals who will sacrifice anything for power and to socialize this country as well as end our status as the earths ONLY super power. Every word from their left wing mouths weakens this nation and are dangerous and destructive to the cause of freedom and liberty!

JOHN KERRY'S WORDS OF SEDITION AGAINST TROOPS

Yesterday on CBS's," Face the Nation," John Kerry recreated his Vietnam era falsehoods against US troops when he claimed that our military was going into Iraqi homes at night, "terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the - of - the historical customs, religious customs." John Kerry has become the mouth piece for the anti-war Democrats, (in other words everyone except Joe Lieberman), in Congress and his rhetoric is at best ridiculous and at worst words of sedition. He is actually accusing our troops of acts of terrorism which gives aid and credence in the Arab world to the false accusations made by Al Jezeera and Islamic radicals about our troops. This type of dangerous rhetoric encourages the enemy and strengthens their resolve when one of our own countrymen accuses our troops of terrorizing Arab women and children. How many troops will die as a result of Kerry's irresponsible words ? This liberal should place a rug on his head and fight for the enemy for his allegiance is more with them then the United States. He actually said that he supports the troops but his words and his actions betray his true feelings both about the troops and this country. After leaving Vietnam in 1971 Kerry accused troops then of a multitude of malicious and murderous acts that have been proven to be false yet his accusations sparked much of the anti-Vietnam and anti-military feelings and anger that existed during the Nixon administration. His false testimony before Congress in 1971 was a major reason the Congress cut funding for the war, leaving our military without proper support to complete the mission in Vietnam. It would seem that he is attempting to do something similar to our men and women in Iraq with his disgusting and seditious accusations that have no basis in truth other than the warped mind of the Massachusetts Senator. The only good that I can see in his being the mouth piece for the Democrats is that when they place someone in the forefront on a very controversial subject that can have a very unpopular response from the electorate it usually signifies that, that politician is expendable and their chances at higher office are minimal at best. Of course Kerry THINKS he has a chance in 2008 but his party evidentially does not. Either way this politician has caused and continues to cause untold damage to the moral and the mission of our heroic men and women in uniform. He is a disgrace to the Senate, a disgrace to the military in which he served and a disgrace to this nation!

THE ATTACK ON CHRISTMAS - THE SUNDAY COMMENTARY

Holiday tree rather than Christmas tree. Happy Holidays rather than Merry Christmas at retail outlets. The banning of Christmas Carols that have any reference to Christ. The banning of any display of the nativity on any public grounds. These are just a few examples of the attack on Christmas that has been gradually taking place in our nation but has reached a somewhat fevered pitch this year since Walmart and Target have been under fire for supposedly requiring their employees to wish, "Happy Holidays, " rather than," Merry Christmas," ( on a side note I did call Walmart's corporate office in Arkansas and was told it was NOT company policy it was left up to the individual store). The controversy took a new twist this past week when Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert reversed the calling of the official tree in Washington a, "Holiday Tree, " which began during the Clinton administration and said that he would light a, "Christmas Tree," thus changing the official name back as it was before the mid nineties. All of this is based on the false notion that the United States Constitution states that there shall be a, "separation of church and state." Notice that I stated that it was based on a, "false notion." Why you may ask, "false ?" Because the words nor the premise of a, "separation of church and state," even exist within the Constitution! Over the last several decades there has been a, "dummying down," of the populace concerning the Constitution especially at the school level where reading the Constitution was required and now there is hardly a mention of it in the text books that are used in today's government schools. The majority of the population have never seen a copy of the Constitution much less read it. So the political premise of a, "separation of church and state, " is blindly accepted. To better understand what I am stating here we must first take a look at the Constitution and then the origin of the separation idea. What is known as the, "establishment clause, " is found in the first Amendment of the Constitution which actually states, " Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." The Founding Fathers realized the importance of freedom of religion as a basis for a free nation since they placed the, "establishment clause, " as the first right that the people have as found in the Bill Of Rights, the first ten Amendments to the Constitution. To better understand why the Fathers felt this so important then next we must look at where they had come from. As a British Colony and before, the soon to be nation followed long standing European laws governing religion which established a state church that one had to belong to to marry, own property, be buried etc. When the Pilgrims first came to this land, that is the primary reason that they left Europe, that they may have freedom to worship and believe as they wished. Therefore the Founding Fathers realized the necessity to establish religious freedom as law in the United States. The freedom to worship and practice religion as ones conscience and heart leads and the prevention of the establishment of a state church as was and still is the law in Britain and the rest of Europe. The idea of, "separation of church and state, " is found in a letter written by then President Thomas Jefferson in 1802, (full transcript of the letter - http://www.usconstitution.net/jeffwall.html), as he answered the Danbury Baptist Association's concerns that the state of Connecticut saw religious liberties as, "favors granted, "rather than immutable rights. Jefferson in his answer stated that religion was guided by ones conscience and not by the state, "thus building a wall of separation of church and state." Ever since this letter the idea of, "separation of church and state, " has been attributed to the Constitution rather than the interpretation of Thomas Jefferson. It is only in the last 60 years that this idea has taken on the significance and political stature that it has and has been used to attempt to eliminate God from even being referenced much less worshiped. The Founders NEVER intended for God to be eliminated from this nation just the freedom for all to worship as they believed and to follow their conscience for that worship whether it be God the Father , (whom I worship), Buddha, Mohammed or whomever.

Although Christmas is primarily a Christian holiday that celebrates the birth of the Savior, it is a recognized holiday that has been celebrated in this country and throughout the world for that reason and the name Christmas is applied to the celebration of Christ's birth. This ridiculous politically correct idea that the name of Christ as referenced to Christmas cannot even be used as a greeting, or a tree or the display of symbols celebrating His birth because it violates the Constitution is absurd. We celebrate Christmas because we believe in Christ as many do or ones celebration is based on the secular idea of Santa Clause etc. Either way the holiday is Christmas and it finds its origin in the birth of the Christ therefore WE here at The Liberal Lie, The Conservative Truth wish you A Merry Christmas and a blessed season !

PRESIDENTIAL PR CAMPAIGN WORKING - CONFIDENCE IN U.S. VICTORY INCREASES

Over the past week President Bush has taken the offensive to counter critics in the media and Democrats concerning Iraq and the overall War on Terror. His campaign is working. In October, according to polls, (which I realize are biased, especially when taking into account the stupid way that many poll questions are phrased), only 39% of Americans believed that we would achieve victory. As of December first those same polls show the percentage up to 48%. Considering the pollsters haven't changed and their form of questioning I'm sure has remained the same, this is a significant increase. One of the many things that President Reagan was extremely successful with was his use of the , "bully pulpit," and his connection to the American people. This has been one characteristic that President Bush has been lacking, especially in reference to the war. Whenever he has spoken directly to the people, confidence in the war our troops and the accomplishments that have taken place has risen and reversed the downward trend that appears from the constant barrage of negativism and defeatism from the liberals and their counter parts in the left wing media. The President needs to do much of the same PR campaign concerning the robust economy. Many Americans feel that the economy is struggling when just the opposite is true. We are experiencing one of the strongest and fastest growing economies in the last fifty years. Yet to hear the left and the media the economy is on the verge of tanking!

Despite problems that are normal and expected during ANY war situtation, overall Iraq and Afghanistan and the world wide hunt for terrorist is going extremely well. As long as the President continues to converse with the nation and not allow the left and the media wing of the Democrat Party to dominate headlines and ONLY report the body count and nothing else, then their lies and false claims will not drive American opinion concerning the marverlous job our men and women in uniform perform everyday to continually insure our freedom and security!

NANCY PELOSI AND JOHN MURTHA PLANNED PULL OUT SCHEME

When John Murtha announced his resolution to pull out of Iraq, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi when questioned stated that, "Mr. Murtha speaks for himself." It turns out that she and Murtha planned the entire affair to place the President on the defensive over Iraq and to stir up a political fire storm, which I might add has back fired. Since the President and VP have been on the offensive rather than the defensive most Democrats have been backing away from their initial support of Murtha and his sedicious statements. Nancy Pelosi is among the few including Murtha who are still following this defeatist idea about pulling out of Iraq. This despite the fact that the majority of the troops and the country according to a recent Pew poll agree that the outcome will be successful. John Kerry has become the front man over the last two days and has literally contradicted himself in just about every statement and interview, which is about par for the course for the Massachusetts Democrat. Murtha today in a further insult to our military said that they would be coming home in less than a year insinuating that they are being abandoned on the field without proper support by stating that they are existing, "hand to mouth." Pelosi and Murtha with the face of Kerry are expressing the true disdain by liberals and especially their elected representatives for the military and the marvelous and heroic job that they are doing in the War on Terror. These left wing morons respect nothing and stand for even less. Their words and actions are un-American and do nothing but harm this nation and send a message of discouragement to our soldiers fighting to give them the freedom to say the very things that attack the mission the military is performing in Iraq and Afghanistan. If the left truly believes that this anti-war rhetoric is going to gain power in Washington in 2006 they are sadly mistaken. They should remember the example of Senator McGovern in 1972 when he attempted this same rhetoric over Vietnam, which truly WAS an unpopular war when his campaign ended in a landslide loss to Richard Nixon. The Democrats prove each day that the minority is where they belong and where they WILL stay!
